"I will be leaving a little earlier this morning, I need to go by James house to pick up some paper work." said Samuel. Does James still work in the building across the street from you?" asked Cynthia. "Yes, he works on the 100th floor." "Why can't you pick them up when you get to work?" asked Cynthia. "He is not coming in today." said Samuel. "I'm going to working on the 113th floor and I do not like being up so high." said Cynthia." No need to fear Cindy, you will be fine." stated Samuel. "Yes, that is easy for you to say, you work on the bottom floor." said Cynthia.
Samuel picked up his briefcase and began walking toward the door. "I can not leave yet we have not prayed." said Samuel. "Children come down stairs." said Cynthia. The children hurried down the stairs. Samuel cleared his throat and said, "Bow your head and close your eyes." "Lord, we come before you this morning thanking you for our lying down and our early rising. We come to say thank you. Watch over us today as we go our separate ways. Let angels go before us and prepare the way. Order our footsteps in Jesus name I pray. Amen" "Samuel kissed his wife and children and walked out of the door. Cynthia made sure that the children ate their breakfast. She then walked with her children to the bus stop. Cynthia came back into the house and proceeded to prepare for her first day at work.
Cynthia dove into the city. After parking her car Cynthia spotted Samuel as he came out of his building and ran across the street to meet her, as Samuel approached Cynthia an airplane hit the top part of Cynthia's building. The two stood there in shook looking at the burning building in horror. The smoke filled the air and Samuel yelled to Cynthia to go home. Cynthia was still in shock but she manage to find her way back to the car. She walked back with a blank stare on her face. Samuel ran into the building screaming and shouting "Get out of the building!" People came out screaming and hollering. Samuel ran up the stairway screaming "Get out of the building a plane has hit the building." People darted by him crying.
On the way up to the 10th floor Samuel heard someone moaning on the stair case. "I think my leg is broken." It was a woman who was about six months pregnant. "Come on I will get you out." said Samuel. Samuel picked the woman up and carried her down five flight of stairs. By this time Samuel was out of breath. Samuel said in a low breath "Lord give me strength." The woman heard him and said,"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." "It's not your fault Ms ." said Samuel. "We are going to die. Get out and save yourself." said the Lady. "Ms. we are not going to die. I would never think of leaving you here." Samuel picked the lady up and started carrying her again. Another group of people rushed down the stairs. Samuel stepped aside and let them pass.
Samuel made it to the first floor in the lobby and collapsed. By this time the lobby was filled with several firemen. Two of them ran over, one picked up the lady and the other one lifted up Samuel and the too carried them both out of the burning building into a a building down the block. Cynthia got out of her car and went running down the block. "Sammy, Sammy" she yelled. "I thought I told you to go home." Samuel said as if he was trying to catch his breath. "You know that I would never leave you." said Cynthia.
"There are still a lot of people trapped in the building." said Samuel. Cynthia replied, "Yes, I know." Moments later the whole building collapsed.
