The famed DC Cemetery in Mountain View started haunting the Mountain View community with simple Halloween decorations back in the '80s. Over the next two decades, it grew increasingly elaborate and famous. This year, the crew of DC Cemetery is taking a break.

Brent Ross, D.C. creator said, "We're both happy and sad to announce that the DC Cemetery is taking a break in 2010. The cemetery crew (and our resident spooks) are enjoying this one-year break and looking forward to bringing you yet another fun filled haunted cemetery for the 2011 season."

While many are disappointed to hear the news, there are other options for ghost seekers this Halloween including a reported "real haunted house" right here in Mountain View. Rengstorff House, built in 1887, stood empty for years due to its haunted activities. Now fully restored, tours here may include an encounter of another kind just in time for Halloween.

While it lacks the special effects of DC Cemetery, you may catch a glimpse of the reported image of a young lady who has haunted the mansion with her moans, cries, and ghostly appearances for decades.
