I have already written a few articles about comparison shopping, focusing on particular items. Since I plan on continuing to do such articles in the future I have decided to not bore you to death with long explanatory stories, but rather keep things shorter and more concise, starting with this article. Enjoy!

Loratadine is the generic name for the allergy medicine more commonly recognized as Claritin. This small white tablet is available in various quantities including, a blister packs of 10 or 30 and bottles of 60.

The blister pack of 30 used to be available at Walmart for $4. Not too long ago it went down to $3.82 and has been holding steady there. Bottles of 60 tables sell for $7.92.

The Math:

$3.82 divided by 30 = $0.127 per tablet

$7.92 divided by 60 = $0.132 per tablet

Conclusion:

With the price drop, it is actually a better deal to buy the smaller quantity in the 30 tablet blister pack versus the 60 tablet bottle. If it ever goes back to $4 a package, buy the bottles.
