Alex Teehee was 20 years old when he was intentionally run over by two men in a dark SUV and left for dead on July 13, 2008, in Sarasota County, Florida. He had physical custody of his two sons and had just moved to Charlotte Harbor Town, Florida, on Sibley Bay Street from the City of North Port, Florida, where his family still lives. He was out for a walk when he was killed. This was no accidental hit and run. Witnesses and tire marks indicated that the SUV drove a direct line across the road to hit Alex, then made a U-turn, and slowed down to view the young man before driving away. Threatening text messages sent to Alex's phone a couple days preceeding the murder strengthen evidence and witness statements.

Alex held on until morning and but passed away at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida.

The memorial reviews the murder briefly and describes the life and character of Alex Teehee. At only twenty, when numerous young men his age are still behaving like children, he had a man's life and had taken full responsibility. A supportive and loving family was no doubt his means for success.

News reports are sparse. WWSB ABC 7 published a report after the murder, however the most awareness for this case is a result of the Teehee family making the community aware of the case, including this writer. Television and print media will only cover the case when the Teehee family has begged for their cooperation.

Presently, the family organizes fundraising events on the behalf of Alex Teehee's toddler sons and post signs and memorials throughout the Charlotte Harbor Town and North Port communities.

The Florida State Police have suspects and evidence but arrests have yet to be made in the murder of Alex Teehee. It has been eight months.
