Firstly, we shall remember Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody. The real one, not that impostor Crouch. Scarily on his guard at all times, our Mad-eye was swept from his life with a curse and a thousand foot drop off his broom. He will be remembered for his "constant vigilance" and magical eye that can see through just about anything. He ways an ever present member of the Order of the Phoenix and had eccentric characteristics that made us laugh.
Our little house-elf Dobby, who was stabbed to death by Death Eater, Bellatrix LeStrange, after Disapparating Harry and his friends to safety. Harry personally buried him in Bill and Fleur's yard, by hand. Many a time has this little being, and sometimes annoyance, helped Harry out of a hard time. We warned Harry of the immense danger of going to Hogwarts after he found out, from the Malfoy's, someone was attempting to re-open the Chamber of Secrets. Harry found a way to free him because of it and got him a job as a free elf at Hogwarts. Dobby helped Harry in his second task with gillyweed in the Triwizard Tournament, showed him how to find the Room of Requirement, even warning him Umbridge was planning to capture the students that made up Dumbledore's Army.
Fred Weasley, twin of George, was our prankster, always ready to give us comical relief in the darkest of times. Even in his final moments, he dies from an explosion with smile on his face. He had been making a joke about his brother, Percy. He left us with the finest happy moments of the series including the time the twins left Hogwarts with a big display of defiance against Umbridge, or the time he and his brother tested their "candies" on first years to see if they puked or had bloody noses, or opening their magnificent joke shop with the hilarious sign " you should be worrying about u-no-poo". His brother will never be the same without him.
Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks were just recently married and had their first child when they meant their untimely death. Remus was possibly the best and most understanding Harry's teachers. He was kind and saw good in everyone. Tonks, being a Metamorphmagus, loved to transform for the children to make them laugh. She saw the good in Lupin, even with his predicament of being a werewolf , and loved him anyway. After apprehension from Lupin, they were married and after they had a little falling out, as Lupin was scared of having a child that was like him, they moved back together. They would not have time to raise their child as they were struck down at Hogwarts defending the school from invasion. Tonk's father, Ted, also meets his demise in this book.
Known for his fanatic obsession and his photo taking, Colin Creevey died after he defied Mcgonagall's orders that all under-aged students were to evacuate the castle. He chose to stand and fight and died for it tragically.
Severus Snape was started out as a villain, evil and greasy. As you read on though you begin to believe that there is more then meets the eye. Though he always despises Harry, he always is protecting him from danger. This is true in the case of Prof. Quirrel's spell. Furthermore, he maintained his obligation as spy for the "good" side by pretending to be a Death Eater, which dove into a deeper plan. He was to kill Dumbledore in order to help Harry later and he dedicated much of his time to watching over Harry to keep him alive long enough to destroy Voldemort. He was the one that led Harry to Godric's sword with a patronus fashioned after Lily's patronus. He was later revealed that he and Lily had been best friends but parted ways when he started hanging with the wrong crowd. He had begged Voldemort to keep Harry's family alive because he loved Lily. Though you may have hated him, somewhere in him was a fondness for Harry that maybe he didn't even realize until it was too late. He was killed by a bite from Nagini, Voldemort's snake, so that Voldemort could supposedly gain control of the elder wand.
Persistent in his vigilance to get Harry to represent the Ministry or give up the goods on Dumbledore's will the Minister if Magic, Scrimgeour, met his end.
Not all the deaths in the book were that of a sad lost.
Wormtail with his ratty little face killed himself with his magical hand after Harry told Peter that he was owed a debt for sparing his life in front of Lupin and Sirius.
The vile Bellatrix LeStrange was taken down by Mrs. Weasley after she attacked Hermione, Luna and Ginny.
Crabbe, Draco's right arm man, burned himself alive, after using a curse that engulfed the Room of Requirement in fire. He was unable to get out while Harry, Ron and Hermione saved Draco and Goyle.
And lastly, we celebrate the death of Voldemort shot down by himself for his lack of knowledge on love, duels, and the Elder Wand or wands in general. I won't list the terrible things he has done but deserved what he had coming to him.
Long live Harry Potter!

Post a CommentActually there is a section dedicated to Remus (page 2) and yes I did forget the majestic Hedwig (shot down by Death Eaters). I focused on more supporting characters and not so much lesser characters that also died so forgive me any one I didn't mention.
you fail.
Amongst others. Remus included.
you forgot hedwig
