The Declaration of Indignation

Brett Davison
Since the establishment of the official government of the United States of America, American politicians have always been divided into at least two parties. In recent years, however, the division between the left and the right has become an impassable wall that extends to every level of American society. Therefore, it is necessary for the patriots of America to give the reasons for their virtual exile from their beloved nation.

The values of the modern conservatives are based on the following principles: America has the right to defend both itself and freedom abroad, America has the right to defend itself from cultural and economic threats, the Constitution must be upheld and respected, and God is the foundation of American law and government.

It is logically impossible for anyone to even begin to refute the first two, for they are among the most basic reasons for any government to exist. At the same time, it would seem that many Americans have forgotten that this principle also applies to the U.S.. American protestors will turn a blind eye to the most foul crimes committed by our enemies while at the same time condemning America for collateral damage. They claim that America is an imperial tyranny, but seem unable to grasp the simple fact that if America wanted an empire, it would have one by now.

The value of the Constitution is also something that no rational person should argue against. It has survived-and continues to survive-longer than any other written constitution in the world. Furthermore, it was organized when the government of the United States of America was at its purest, untainted by ambition, greed, or any other selfish drives. The writers of the Constitution had just fought a war against the most powerful nation in the world-over principle. Had they lost the war, they all would have been hung as traitors.

The final principle, however, is somewhat more controversial. In a world where nothing is so sacred that it cannot be examined and ridiculed, to even say the word "God" is to call upon oneself the wrath of the politically correct. However, if one were to study the facts of American history without bias, they would find clear evidence of not only the use of the Bible in the establishment of laws and principles, but also direct, divine intervention. Washington himself said in his Farewell Address that no man could call himself a patriot if he labored to separate religion and government. Indeed, no sooner can the morality of government survive the purging of religion from its being than a body can survive the purging of blood from its vessels.

And if indeed the far left should succeed in its war against Christianity, it will eventually find that no religion considers itself a way, but rather that every religion in the modern world considers itself the way, making all religions just as "intolerant" as Christianity. Therefore, if the far left should be successful, they will eventually make of themselves enemies of every faith and practice.

With that said, let us put forth these causes for distress, where the world may become aware of the moral crimes of the far left:

That the far left, having driven nearly every patriot from their own party, now strive to crush patriotism among the moderates and the parties of the right wing.

That they have engaged in cultural warfare against Christianity.

That they have done everything within their power to obstruct the defense of the United States against terrorists.

That they have willfully forgotten the events of 9/11 and mock those who attempt to remind them.

That they have spread enemy propaganda-that is to say, hateful protests, the beliefs of those who hate our nation, and one-sided information that favors the enemies of America and their goals.

That the liberal media has diverted the free flow of pure information to the American people, presenting the public only with information that supports their views.

That they have condemned both tyrants and the men and women who would endeavor to depose those tyrants.

That they have opposed those policies that would protect the American economy and advocated policies that would ruin it.

That they have chosen "merciful" methods that foster crime and cultural decay over "cruel" methods that would prevent them.

That they exert unchecked, unchallenged, and unearned power over public education.

That they have seized control of the law schools.

That, through liberal lawyers, the far left has destroyed legitimately arrived at laws, robbing countless Americans of their votes.

That they have encouraged the murder of infants.

That they have vilified the nation of Israel because of its lack of hesitancy in dealing with those who would see its destruction, and by doing so made themselves enemies of God's chosen people.

That they strive to remove all signs of the faiths of the Founding Fathers.

That they have committed these and other crimes in the names of freedom and equality, perverting the most basic American ideals.

Such are the crimes of the tyrannical left. So obsessed with political correctness are they, that they push forward even when the righteous goal has been achieved. So insane is their dogma that they have leapt at the chance to glorify the wicked and oppose the nation that brought about a new age of democracy. So twisted are they that they claim the nation that gives them the freedom of speech is a police state. So deluded are they that they would spit upon the name of their Creator.

Therefore, let us put our faith in God, the Constitution, our right as a people to defend ourselves, and our duty as a superpower to oppose tyranny. Let us not bind ourselves not to any political parties, but to the principles that those parties are founded on. Let us strive to emulate in every way, the men that signed their own death sentence over two-hundred years ago.

April, I guess then that the founding fathers were also angry people...

It's almost too convenient when Jeff makes a statement that substantiates what Brett was saying in his article. Jeff, you would trample the Bill of Rights simply to bring about a world where your views reign uncontested. You are no better than the far right extremists you rail against. You and they are just opposite sides of the same coin.

To deny anyone the chance to come to know Christ is indeed forcing atheism down everyone's throats. Every human being has a right--in fact, John Adams called it a duty--to worship God in whatever way seems best to them. Besides, the majority of Christian organizations are ultimately benevolent. At my school, a teacher from last year is currently working on a mission in Brazil, were they help get kids off the streets, one student is organizing donations for Coats For Kids, another student is organizing a sort off-shoot of Operation Smile in which she runs bake-sales for the organization, a couple students now spend every lunch working at a table where they sell imported necklaces from Africa for Enzi Imports--the girl who started this is also on the worship team--, and the school is working with Angel Tree to buy and deliver gifts for kids whose parents are in jail.

Brett, thanks for speaking for me...you are right...I would absolutely favor making illegal K-12 religious education, and revoking any and all tax priveleges for churches. Not to "force Atheism down anyone's throat," but to end indoctrination and faith-based manipulations..

Yes Brett you must be a very angry hate filled young man for daring to present a view different than that of Jeff and April. You should be ashamed of yourself!! After all, April's noble statement that,"faith has a place in your home, in your church and in your community." means that it is ok for you to think such things but, in truth, your thoughts have no place or purpose in the marketplace of ideas. You should thank her for granting you the ability to have your beliefs even in those realms. Just be submissive and accept the fact that they fight for freedom and ideas when it suits them and want them restricted when it doesn't. Then again, I would expect nothing less from a mere teenager.

April:By the way, imagine that two laws wer passed, one that illegalized religious schools and one that required that churches either pay taxes or suffer disbandment. Now assume that Jack Oceano and Jeff Musall supported the law while it was still a bill and then celebrated it when it became a law. Since this law would be forcing atheism down America's collective throat, would you accuse Jack Oceano and Jeff Musall of the same traits that you claim to have found in me?

April: I do not want to force Christianity on anyone or add it to our governemnt. I want it to be treated in our government the same way it was when this nation was founded. I do not want anyone to be forced to believe but the thing about Christian moral values is that they are indeed moral values. If morality has nothing to do with abortions then they should be allowed but if morality is involved then that means that it is universally wrong, regardless of your beliefs. I realize that there are circumstances that allow for it. I do not in any way oppose the support of education and opportunity but I do not believe these efforts can be successful as long as tyranny is allowed to thrive as in the case of such nations as Iran. I do not feel any hatred for you or any of the other liberals on here although I am a bit amused at times. If I found any of you had cancer I would pray for you just like any of my friends.

  • April12/2/2007

Then, their children would be less likely to follow in their fathers footsteps. If you don't believe in abortion, then dont have one. But dont enforce your beliefs on others. Brett, you seem like a very angry person. Filled with hate for those who are not like you or do not have the beliefs that you do. You despise those of us who struggle to live our lives based on our beliefs. That seems very un American to me.

  • April12/2/2007

Well, were do I begin? Us 'evil' lefties are quite American. We believe that America should be governed with intelligence and neutral principles. We don't believe that those Americans who are not religious people in the christian right, should be forced to live their lives under religious law. We arn't opposed to those who believe in dietys to live their lives accordingly. Faith has its place. In your home, your church (which is on every street corner in every town, all over the country), and in your community. The Christians even have their own t.v. channels. Will you not be satisfyed until everyone is forced to live their lives based on your principles? We don't support infant killing. There are circumstances were abortion should be allowed. Rape, incestual crimes, women who find they are infected. We believe that America should help those nations who live in poverty and support education and opportuniny, so that they want to live. Not sacrafise their lives for the death of others. T

Brett, Like you, I fail to see how our "exceptionalism and jingoism" has in any way endangered American Freedoms.Did you challenge Jeff to some sort of contest? I am wondering why he is challenging you to put your writings up against his. Take the challenge Brett. I believe that you are very capable of countering Jeff's accusations and name calling with information born of conviction, research and rationality.
