The Democratic Presidential Candidates Positions on Gun Control

Regina Sass
One thing that is very evident is the fact that not all issues are on the must do list of every Presidential Candidate, or every Political Party for that matter. Virtually every Republican Presidential Candidate has a position on his web page, mostly opposing any more control, where only one Democratic Presidential Candidate has a position. The Democratic National Committee does not have a position on its official web site either. It is this way with many issues. The Presidential Candidates web sites are the places where most potential voters will go for information. They are available 24/7 and it make it easy for you to get your opinion heard. It is up to you to decide how important it is to do something, either further restrictions, or less restrictions, regarding gun control. If it is, contact the candidates and ask them their position. If enough potential voters ask, the more chance there is that the candidates will explore the issue of gun control and formulate a position.

I am a union member and gun owner. I find it ironic that the dems "have no position" on gun control this time. Last time the were beat to their own demise over their desires to take our guns. My union vice president recently told me I should vote dem and I told him I couldn't do that based on the last two candidates (both are for more gun control legislation). He said we need to protect our union, I said I need to protect my gun ownership rights because only one (owning guns) will get back the other (my union) if it is lost!!!
THAT is the foundation of the second ammendment. WE should not fear our government, our government should fear US!!!
The other Clinton took away gun rights from law abiding citizens and have fear because this Clinton will do even more if given the chance!!!
Criminals do not obey the laws that are already on the books, why do liberal anti-gunners think MORE restrictive gun laws will make them change.

Remember, guns don't kill people, bullets do!!!

I am a responsible gun owner & a NRA member. My son & I hunt for food on the table. If there is gun control I am afraid that our hunting will go away. Only the honest people would not have guns. This should be a top topic with the canadates. But who do you believe.

The following internet article caught my attention today.

    http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2007/12/26/huckabee_hunts_birds_votes_in_heartland/

There are some weird comments by Huckabee in the article such as claiming that the dead birds he shot in the bird hunt "gave their lives for his campaign"....

The issue of gun control has taken a backseat in the 2008 Democratic Presidential Campaign. This may be of some benefit to the Democrats, since the Bush, Cheney, Huckabee and Romney style is promoting and pandering gun ideology to manipulate and control voters/votes.

I am a liberal Democrat, I own guns, I am a responsible gun owner, and I know how to hunt. Why is it that the Repulican Red State crowd present themselves as the only hunters in the United States? They jumped all over Senator Kerry during the 2004 Presidential campaign when he when duck hunting in Ohio.

This didn't tell me anything except the Democrats are apathetic.

I fear no policy on gun issues means the dems loose again! what are they thinking!
