The Denial Factor and Bristol Palin's Future Sex Talk Speaking Engagements

Alfonso Coley
In a time where many young Americans are seeking wisdom from their so called role models, it has become apparently clear that Bristol Palin should not be elected a role model pertaining to teen pregnancy. In fact, it is quite absurd to think of Bristol Palin as a speaker and advocate of teen abstinence when she has not practiced abstinence in her own personal life.

The recent deaconry of Bristol Palin's denied speaking engagement at Washington University about teen pregnancy and abstinence was shot down, due to many student protesters and people within the community whom felt her voice does not speak for the majority of teenagers in America today. Many Washington University students feel she has no right to talk about such a delicate subject that she has no knowledge of.

Bristol Palin's effort to become a role model for young women seeking advice on teen pregnancy is a self absorbed push - trying to improve her tainted image, which has nothing to do with her connection and relationship with her peers.

Of course, most of Bristol Palin's public appearances regarding her attempt to connect with young American women are a bit out of touch, especially since she has not practiced what she is trying to advocate. The truth of the matter is that Bristol Palin has become a media darling due to her mother's political popularity among the Republican Party.

It may be a wise decision for Bristol Palin to abandon her efforts and endeavors on trying to become an advocate against teen pregnancy, and leave her sex speaking engagements for young people who practice what they preach.

I do not believe just because you have lived through something may make you an expert on any particular issue. Only adults who have the courage to rise above their misfortune often times have much to give back to the community of mankind. In my eyes Bristol Palin is a youngster living behind her mothers' limelight, and it does not make her a valid figure to talk about abstinence before having sex. It is completely contradictory for her to speak about such a delicate issue that affects so many teenagers. My opinions are not biased at all, I am just stating the fact, the truth of what is real in our society today.

Commentator shows definite bias! AND MISSED THE POINT!

The point of Bristol speaking out is because she is a public figure who draws crowds and increases exposure to the subject and so far has conducted herself quite well after her wrong choice!
Other examples are reformed convicts, drug users and yes alcoholics. Someone who has been there and done that can speak with authorityu!

If Bristol has adopted an abstinance decision after her real life experiance difficult & real that it was, she can address the subject better than those in the audience who are living their intimate lives as they please

MMM don't know what to say!

I think its mostly about Bristol trying to emulate he mother who is capitalizing on a celebrity status that wasn't really earned for something noteworthy. They are the Howard Stern's of Right Wing adulation.
