Nothing scares me more
Than a dental chair.
I always have to ask myself
What I am doing there.
Nothing makes my heart skip
Like a dentist's drill.
I find myself wondering
If I should've made a will.
When the smiling dentist
Walks in to say hello
I have to hold on very tight
To resist the urge to go.
I hate knowing glances
That always seem to say
You really should have brushed more
And flossed the proper way.
I don't ignore on purpose.
There's just so much to do.
It seems that time slips away
And then the day is through.
I have no excuses
For not doing as I'm told.
There really is no good reason
Except that I am old.
I guess I'll grin and bear it
I have no choice you see.
Hard as I tried to hide from him
The dentist spotted me.

Post a CommentI don't like dentists either but for more of a monetary reason.
Very cute :) I am also scared of the dentist, mostly because of an abusive one I had as a kid. We found a really sweet lady in Texas, however, who does the most fantastic work. I'd fly back just to see her if I could.
Why are we all afraid of the the dentist? Great article!
Great read! LOL
ha ha ha ha ................I really enjoyed it !....."You think going to a dentist is stressful for you; Remember, going to work can be stressful too! If you think it is a roller coaster ride; Wait till you hear the dentist's side."..........I wrote a few poems on my experience.........I am just quoting from one of those..........
Hear, Hear...I hate dentists too and can totally relate to this one. Awesome poem :)
Wishing you a Very Happy Birthday, Charlie!!! I dislike dental visits too.
Very good poem and happy birthday! The dentist is never fun.
:-) I had dental phobia until I was well into my thirties- used to cry when I got my teeth cleaned. I finally found a dentist and staff that I like... if he ever closes shop I'll be in trouble!
This is cute!!
