The Devil: A Societal History

Opinions vary as to who or what the hell is the devil. To be all encompassing, the devil is an unkind thought, a thoughtless mouth, acts that incur hurt or injustice, the belittlement of others and so forth and so on as the sickness of the human mind sinks deeper below the sublime. The devil is you and the devil is I, and this takes the form of a universal consciousness and the form of a personal and individual manifestation. Well then, is the devil merely human thought life or is there more to this mystery than the containments of mortal? The devil has many names and the one that is most familiar is the name that is culturally driven, which is to say, that culture, either religious or non-religious defines the name that unrestrained self-will and unlawfulness to individuals and society is given.

The majority of people the world over believe that there is a devil either as a unique being or as an expression of wrongdoing on the part of others. This belief in the devil is so common that it is worth exploring its assumptions and its merits, perhaps not to derive at a consensus, but mainly to reach an acceptable hypothesis on this evasive question. We know that atoms exists even as we cannot see them with the naked eye and we know when we have a body ache or pain even as also we cannot see this discomfort with our eyes and we know that badness, or evil, or depravity exists even as many have the physical misfortune to experience it and as a single body of many substances we call this manifest disharmony the devil, or Satan, or whatever name that the particular culture assigns it.

Most people believe that the devil is an actual metaphysical being who has a very bad attitude towards human beings, so much so that the entire just of its existence is to make a mockery of the mortal presence and render void its kinship with the highest dominions. Most people also believe that this being is hideous and ghastly in appearance and this is what the scout troops of thoughts that goes out before that main body of thoughts are on the lookout for to ward off and shield penetration into the permanent settlements that houses the accepted belief systems of the human mind. Yet this is a false assumption based upon the finished product that has been inspired by the clever one, for beautiful beyond belief is the true nature of the beast, and stunning in appearance is never spoken of as being taken away from this magnificent being.

By a flash of beauty the debased is made to look appealing and with a flare of comeliness the deranged is paraded like as if it is a sparkling crown. The devil is of form and is of substance because the collective minds of mortals creates proportion and symmetry out of subatomic particles that has all of the character traits that makes up the energy and power of the human spirit. The devil therefore is a real and actual being and a living entity and is nothing of the kind the by-product of mythology and wise tales as some do suggest because the foot is always in the mouth of the prideful and boastfully spoken. The devil, or whatsoever name that it culturally goes by, came about and is currently indwelling because humankind took the desires of its collective minds and made into substance that which is as invisible to the eyes as electrons and just as deadly as a surge of these invisibles under the right voltage or human compulsion.

A reasonable hypothesis is that the devil is an actual being that resides within the confines of the planet Earth's sphere that is given the energy to live and thrive by the minds of earth mortals who feeds and sustains it with very much sustenance of greed, bigotry, pride, and hatreds that humankind visits upon itself. In the glory of this human made feast, it is said that the devil even became so intoxicated with mortal maledictions that it stole away from its assigned place and invaded the seventh seal of the royal heavens to take control of all controls and reign by subjugation as if it constituted the whole. It is said that when this whimsical attempt suffered defeat at the hands of light agents that it, being the devil, was hurled back down from winch it came and upon the landing it collapsed into madness that now delights in ambushing its creators.

Every human opinion is rightfully echoed by the sound of a commode flushing because every human opinion is like human waste and it's accompanying toiletries rushing down the channels and regurgitated unto shortsightedness. The devil is both an entity of universal human consciousness and an actual being of dimension and substance that mortals have made out of the mortal brain. The devil is not an adversary to any god but is the manifest destiny of the human mind that craves lawlessness and self-righteousness and leaps by bolts and jolts to defile itself in the bewildered presence of the heavenly cosmic witnesses. This hypothesis is sound and can be experienced on a daily basis by merely waking up and going about the day.
