The Devil's Design

Attack of the Twin Towers

Faye Fairley
On September eleven, two thousand one,
Out of the sky, grave damage was done.
Evil terrorists with hearts of hate,
Attacked the heart of the United States.
Working for Satan, this evil man
Killed Americans as was his plan.
Innocent people from all walks of life,
Were about to suffer the ultimate strife.
Leaving for work , no feeling of threat,
On a day in history we'll never forget.
No hug, no kiss, no final goodbye,
These innocent doomed not ready to die.
Crashing planes with smoke and fires,
All in minutes, which seemed like hours.
Aboard the planes the fathers and sons,
The mothers and daughters, everyone!
Unable to flee, unable to stand,
They lost their lives at Satan's hands.
On the ground, at work and play,
Americans were the devil's prey.
Thousands perished at one time,
This had to be the devil's design.
Trying so hard to save some lives,
Some heroes paid the ultimate price.
No words we say can ever heal,
Or change the way America feels.
They can't replace the ones we lost.
Nor repay some of the costs.
This unspeakable evil attack
Has stabbed America in the back.
Over two thousand people we lost
And though he's proud of our cost;
We're waving flags even more,
Determined to even up the score.
To change America, he really tried,
But he didn't know American pride.
Though we feel very down trod,
We're still one nation- under God!!

Beautifully written. That day did seem like it took hours for all of that to unfold, but it really only took seconds. I think it is the replay on TV over and over that put it in our minds in slow motion. High 5!!!!
