The Diane Mott Davidson Mysteries: Cooking Up a Good Story

Star Chaser
I love a good mystery. I want a mystery that captures me right from the beginning and ends with a bang. I want to be surprised at the ending, yet still have the "of course it was him" feeling. I don't want a lot of blood or gross sex and excessive violence. I just want a good story, fun characters, a fun setting and a chill or two.

Diane Mott Davidson writes just such mysteries. Ms. Davidson created Goldy Bear, single mom and caterer in Aspen Meadow, Colorado. Goldy Bear also has a nose for crime solving. Since Goldy is a caterer, she does a lot of her thinking in her kitchen as she cooks up scrumptious meals for her clients. Ms. Davidson always includes some of the recipes in her book. These novels are great fun. The will involve you from the first line. These books give just want you want. A good mystery and a good main character with some recipes thrown in, what more do you want.

Let me recommend some books to start with.

Catering to Nobody
When Goldy's former father-in-law passes out from rat poison in the coffee she's catering, and her kitchen is closed down, Goldy wants answers.

Killer Pancake
Goldy has to make fat free food for a catering deal for a cosmetic company. She ends up witnessing the murder of the girl friend of her friend and co worker Julian.

The Grilling Season
In this novel Goldy finds herself having to investigate a murder in which the prime suspect is her ex-husband.

Which ever book you choose, you won't fail to be entertained. Enjoy.
