Why have I gone through such a change? It is hard to pinpoint the reasons. Part of it is because I put so much effort in the past just for people to argue with me, only to find that I was 100% correct on all my claims. Of course, it is exhausting to know that not one person who tried to debate me has come to me to admit I was right all along.
Another difference is that the last election was full of on the fence voters that were too unpredictable. I would hate to not put any effort in this election and end up having the wrong party in power; however, it seems like a very slim chance that Republicans will win. This causes me to lack enthusiasm to actively support any particular candidate.
Now, having said all this, I still need to make sure to encourage everyone to vote. No matter your political views, there is one important fact. That is that no progress has occurred in this country. We are left with record debt, a poor economy, a New Vietnam, and nothing to show for it. I understand that a conservative does not want change. We should still be advancing as a society. So, a little of change would be an improvement. The Republican Party has proven the inability to prioritize our problems and construct reasonable solutions.
At this time, it is still too early for me to strongly support any candidate. Not that I can be swayed by little actions or comments that cause others to change their vote. In fact, it is rare that a speech will make me love or hate a candidate. Some of us that are able to read through the bull do not need to hear a load of speeches to decide who is best. In my case, I have not taken the time to really look into the candidates. Currently, Barrack Obama is looking to be the best option. I will not fully back him until I have investigated more. The one confident thing I can say is that he is a much better option that John Kerry and he makes George W. Bush look like the lazy fool he is.
So, even if you hate change, or just fear it. The truth of the matter is that times are constantly changing and we must keep up. Our country was in a confused mess full of war propaganda in the last election. Most of us were deceived on many issues over the past 8 years. This year is finally a chance to redeem our mistakes and begin to rebuild our economy. I encourage all to take a more active role than I have and really get involved. We must get the best person for the job on top in the primaries and no matter who gets that far, it is important we support progress. Come November, lets come together, united as one country and put our support behind the Democrats who deserve a fair chance to make some improvements to the best country in the world.
