In fact, caffeine is the number one used psychoactive drug in the world. Yes, Caffeine is a drug. It's addictive, and has some similar effects on the body as most serious stimulant drugs, only not as intense of an effect. Nonetheless, caffeine is a drug.
Since caffeine is the preferred substance in coffee, the more caffeine, the more helpful a cup of coffee is in the morning. Caffeine is not limited to just coffee.
Espresso is a type of coffee drink, which has over 4 times the amount of caffeine content, on average, than coffee. This is because espresso is made in an espresso maker, which uses high pressure steam power to remove the taste and caffeine from coffee grains.
Espresso grains can be used in an espresso maker as well, which make a more powerful brew because they're finer grain and pack much easier.
Since espresso contains much more caffeine, you won't need nearly as much to get a good "buzz" in the morning. I personally have an average of 4 shots every morning. This is quite an excessive amount, because these 4 shots have roughly the equivalent of about 8 cups of coffee.
This is a little more than a POT of coffee. Why does espresso have so much caffeine? It's all about the process in which its made. The intense pressure causes much more substance to be removed from the grains than just running hot water through them does.
A great way to make a cup of espresso is to pack down the grains very well in the handle. If the grains are packed very well, more will be removed from the grains. This makes an excellent cup of espresso.
Another great thing about espresso is the fact that you can use it to make several coffee products. For example, most Starbucks products are used making espresso.
Cappuccino is simply espresso along with some cream and milk, brought to a broth. Espresso is the bare ingredient for hundreds of coffee-like drinks.
Espresso is becoming more popular because of the fact that it's a much higher concentration, as well as the fact that you can make several tasty, sweet drinks with it.
