The Disappearing Canvases
To every store I know.
Searching for a canvas
Of a large size to paint.
From one hobby store to another,
Wasting precious gas.
Everyone seems to be out of
The really large canvas.
I go out on Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday
And Thursday.
Even on Friday and
Saturday they are still all out.
It doesn't matter whether
It is morning, noon
Or the evening,
Someone is buying them all.
Where do these large
Canvases disappear to?
How can I miss them all?
Too bad I cannot find them
At any of the malls.
Looks like I need to make them,
But I have no idea what size they are.
Do you think they would mind
If I measure the ones at the bar?
Maybe a museum will let me do that there.
Where are all these canvases
Disappearing to from there?
At last I see the culprit...
Another artist I know.
She is taking the exact ones
I need for my show.
Too bad I cannot offer her
More than what she'll pay.
I suppose I will have to try
To beat her to them another day.

Canvas is hard to find and expensive.
lol i love it! For me the worst is when I go into a craft store and I look at the canvases and they just raised the prices...so that one big canvas is now 30 bucks; if i want humongous it's more! lol
