The District at Green Valley Ranch Hosts Family-Friendly Movie Screenings for September 2011
Free Movie Screenings Within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area
This September, residents of the Las Vegas metropolitan area can enjoy family movie nights at The District at Green Valley Ranch. This commercial development hosting a number of shops, restaurants, and specialty establishments in Henderson, Nevada features family-friendly movies taking place every Fridays and Saturdays for the entire month through its "Outdoor Picture Show" program. These movies include a number of Hollywood classics and recent releases.
General Schedule and Screening Location
Each screening starts at 7:00 p.m. This bi-weekly event happens at The Green, which is just adjacent to Whole Foods Market and The Carousel. This venue is located is at 2240 Village Walk Dr. Henderson, NV 89052. This is situated on the east side of Green Valley Parkway via I-215 in Henderson.
Things to Bring
All guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, compact beach or lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and refreshments. Complimentary popcorn is provided for attendees. Additional food and beverages are also available from the different dining establishments around The District. Since the screenings are held outdoors, if rain or high winds occur during a scheduled screening, the film will have to be rescheduled for another day.
Prohibited Items and Regulations
Alcoholic drinks are not allowed during the screenings. Fireworks and firearms are not allowed as well, per city ordinance. The District also asks guests not to smoke anywhere within the screening area.
List of Films and Screening Dates
The Green's "Outdoor Picture Show" program features a variety of free movie screenings, which include animated hits, comedies, classics, dramas, and other family-friendly blockbuster offerings. The September schedule features the following films every Fridays and Saturdays of the month: "Cars" (Sept. 2), "Secretariat" (Sept. 3), "Nanny McPhee Returns" (Sept. 9), "Tron: Legacy" (Sept. 10), "Gnomeo and Juliet" (Sept. 16), "Oceans" (Sept. 17), "Planet 51" (Sept. 23), "Apollo 13" (Sept. 24), and "Iron Man 2" (Sept. 30). Each film is projected using a quality digital rear projection system onto a 10-feet-by-14-feet screen.
