The Dos and Don'ts of Movie Remakes

It's Deja Vu All Over Again

Do stay away from cult classics.
I don't want to see Sam. Jackson play the role of Sho'nuff in a remake of The Last Dragon. Not only is that casting a cop out(Its too predicable, and he isn't even the best choice. Busta Rhymes would be perfect for that role), a remake of obscure greatness makes no sense! Take a well known crappy flick like Alexander and do that over instead.

Do NOT remake a remake of a remake.
Redundancy brought about the worlds first ever face palm. If nobody wanted to see the remake 10 years ago, what sense does it make to update it again? not much changes after 10 years you know. 10 years ago I didn't like Star Wars, Chitterlings or people who pronounced 'that" as "dat". I've learned to simply dislike Star Wars since then.

Do refrain from doing remakes.
We have Netflix, so everyone can sniff out a supposed classic if they wanted to .

Don't take feedback form fanboys.
At the end of the day, they will go to see the film bo matter how crappy trailers look.

Do load the remake up with Easter Eggs.
No, not actual Easter eggs(though that would be amusing in a horrid movie.)

Don't do a shot for shot remake.
For the sake of other peoples safety, don't release a carbon copy of a movie. No body want to deal with know it alls who watch every film ever made three times over, going nuts because every scene is a bit off. That lamp was approximately 5 centimeters to the left of where it is in this version...Nobody wore Polo shirts back then because they didn't exist....The original movie had two more oranges on the table in that scene... *drones on about more useless information you probably wouldn't care about*

oh I agree a remake is bad enough but a remake of a remake of a remake is too much.
