The Downfall of the U.S. Economy?

Sebastian Thomas
What do you think about the United States economy? It hasn't been healthy for a long time and it is obviously affecting the rest of the world as well. The jobless rate keeps rising and 401ks seem to be at a halt in progression. Is your company still offering matches? The economy of the United States is supposed to be the largest national economy in the world. But it is suffering from an extreme economic meltdown.

According to wikipedia.org, as of June 2009, the total U.S. federal debt was approximately $11.4 trillion and for what reason? I bet you are asking yourself why are we spending so much on wars in the middle east and not really taking care of our own United States citizens here? The war spending bill has been going on for years and I'm sure we could be utilizing that money more wisely for other resources such as education, aid for the homeless and medical. We could also probably be using more of that money for research on space travel and exploration instead. Something that can benefit us all in order to progress for humanity.

Is this a step to unite the neighboring countries like they did in Europe to create the euro and create a stronger monetary system? I am talking about the possible union of Canada, Mexico and the United States to form a new monetary system called the Amero. This information was provided by CNN and can be found in this link. Is this what we are headed for?

Are we to continue to suffer along with this obviously weak economy and finally give in to this new and undesired proposal to merge three countries together and form a new type of currency? Something interesting to think about. It almost seems like we "will beg" for anything that just about fixes this economic crisis. But is that what they really want us to think? Even looking at the current financial and economic situation of California economic status can cause quite a discernment among the American population.

Because to see California go down may include a domino effect across the United States itself. Something we definitely will not want to see at anytime. Especially if the world is watching us closely to see how far the we will tumble in our current economic status. I always wish the best for this great country and wish to see it as prosperous as it once was and flourish greatly.
