The Dragon's Collection

Nathan Ross
Into the darkness the noble knight goes,
Into the gates of hell he enters.
The grumbling, lumbering beast awakens.
The tight coils of fear grip the knight.

The red eyes of the giant wyrm glow bright,
The scaled legs crawl forward.
The knight shivers in his armor as he
Draws his sword and raises his shield.

Fire erupts from the dragon's mouth,
The heat and noise make the knight faint.
The dragon reaches forward with his mouth
And places the knight before him.

Peeling the armor off, the dragon eats
The delicacy known as Man.
After he finishes the last sweet morsel of meat,
He throws the armor to his collection.
