Finding things to do together as a family can be difficult, but everyone in your family will surely love a trip to the Drive-In. It is a great way to get some quality family time together. Pack a picnic dinner and if you like your favorite movie snacks. Drive-In's are a great place for you to enjoy a movie especially if you have small children. Most Drive-In's offer double features and the first is usually always family friendly. Our favorite Drive-In near Winchester, VA offers two screens and four movies every night. The movies begin at dark, but we always head in early for a great spot and a chance to have a little family picnic together. The kids enjoy playing in the playground area before the movie begins and it gives the adults a chance to catch up or just to hang out with the kids.
The Drive-In is defiantly a family friendly environment. Tickets are rather inexpensive averaging around $7 for adults and half price for children 3 years to 12 years old. Plus don't for get for that price you are getting two movies for the price it would cost to see one in the traditional cinemas. You also have the added benefit of being able to see movies on the big screen that you children may not have usually sat still for. You can also bring along portable DVD players for your little ones to watch cartoons on while you and your husband enjoy a non cartoon style movie. Most of the movies at the drive-in are also usually appropriate for children although there is the occasional scary movie that may not be appropriate for all children.
Drive-In's are a great way to get the family together for an entertainment experience. It is very affordable and an opportunity to have a meal with the kids and maybe even friends. Pick up a bucket of chicken and bring a cooler of drinks for a great time at your area Drive- in. With modern day conveniences in a vintage family friendly environment.
