The Plan
The Duke Diet Online Plan is made up of four components that the researchers say will help you lose weight. The four components of the plan are: a personalized diet, a fitness routine, behavioral strategies and medical expertise. The experts of the Duke Diet claim that these are the four things that will be key in helping you achieve your weight goals. Most diets claim to give you a personalized diet and at least a fitness routine, but the Duke Diet also offers their medical expertise for dieters with a host of medical problems. They give you access to the expertise of five medical experts who have run the Duke Diet and Fitness Center in North Carolina. The Duke Diet keeps it realistic, reminding dieters that the plan aims for an average of 1-2 pounds of weight loss per week.
How it Works
The Duke Diet begins with you signing up for a free Duke Diet evaluation. You enter info about your height, weight, age, and medical problems to access information about the right weight for you. But the Duke Diet goes even further in having you answer questions about your reasons for losing weight, and why you think weight loss plans have failed you in the past. Then they give you a personalized assessment of your weight loss goals. If you decide to sign up for the plan then the Duke Diet creates a personalized weight loss plan for you. Next you are able to consult with their medical experts online with any questions you have about your weight loss. Finally you can log your weight loss in to a personal weight tracker so that its easy to see your success.
Highlights of the Duke Diet
The Duke Diet claims to make your weight loss easier by giving you 16 different online weight loss tools which include a personalized meal planner, recipe box, exercise video library and behavioral health assessments. The Duke Diet also offers the advice of a nutrition expert, fitness expert, behavioral health expert and two medical experts. All of the experts have been working in the field of weight loss and health for many years. The experts of Duke Diet claim that their advice is based on the latest research in the weight loss field.
Should you use the Duke Diet Online?
I was very impressed by the program's emphasis on using weight loss techniques that have been scientifically researched. I also thought that the 16 tools were more than enough to help keep me on track as long as I logged on every day. The behavioral health component also seemed like an area I have found lacking in other diet plans. Overall, I decided to try the 7 day trial which was only a dollar. We'll see if the Duke diet will truly help me achieve the goal it has set for me. But, even if you aren't ready to join the Duke Diet, you can purchase a copy of the Duke Diet book and see if the program will work for you.
