The Early Signs of a Haunting

FlutterBy
The early signs of a haunting may vary. It all depends on what type of haunting you have. There are some signs to pay attention to if you think you're house might be haunted. The frequency of these events normally escalate as the haunting progresses.

Cold spots can go unnoticed until more than more person experiences them. They occur in the path or direct position of a spirit. If a spirit or ghost is somewhere near you then you might get a sudden chill.

Electricity can go haywire during a haunting. Lights will flicker or go out completely, televisions and radios will turn on and off (or might turn to static), appliances malfunction and small toys or battery operated objects might move on their own or malfunction.

Voices and noises are the most common signs of a haunting. The noises can come in forms of scratches, thumping, knocking, banging, unseen objects falling, unseen footsteps and doors opening. Voices can be heard clearly or as muffled sounds. In some instances, many voices are heard at once indicating that more that one person might by present. Laughing and singing can also occur.

Pets can be a good indicator if something is unusual. Pay attention if your dog starts becoming scared of shadows or if they bark at something (aggressively) or start whining at an empty space. They might look up or pay special attention to a certain area of a room. No one can know if animals can sense ghost but some dogs can sniff out cancer so why not ghost? Cats might hiss and become defensive if they see or sense something unusual such as a spirit. On CNN a few weeks ago I saw a story about a cat that lived at a nursing home. The cat would always sit on the bed of someone who was going to die that day. Everyone there noticed this and it wasn't just one person making some story up. To me that proves that pets know things that we don't and even though we don't understand it we shouldn't ignore it either.

Hauntings can be triggered by numerous events such as the moving in to or remodeling of a house, a violent crime, suicide, etc. All of these might show different signs before a full on haunting occurs. If you feel that your house is haunted then don't wait to contact a paranormal investigation group. It might be nothing but they can help you figure this out so you don't have to do it alone. The signs I listed above could have reasonable explanations so if you experience something such as a random cold spot don't jump to conclusions. You live in your house so only you really know what's normal and what's not. Be observant and not only pay attention to your environment but also the people in the house with you. Hauntings can cause emotional and psychological damage to some people.

we recently moved into a new home, it was built in 1909 and has been completly remodeled. During the past few days a couple of weird thhings have happened. At night, always after 7 pm I smell something burning, it smells like burnt hair, i only smell this in the space between our kitchen and our dining area, which is where the old fire place used to be, the chimmney is still there however but it has been enclosed in dry wall and painted. Only me and my youngest son can smell it though. Last night my husband and I heard something fall, it sounded like glass shattering, it appeared to come from either our kitchen or back porch or bathroom, however when we went to check it out, there was nothing out of place. I'm not sure what to make of these things.

last night I had a bad experience, this happen to me twice . I was almost a sleep , all of a sudden i feel some kind of pressure on my right side , I was laying down on my left to go to sleep..so anyway I felt pressure and feet something laying behind me.. so I tried around but to find out I couldn't turn around so i started to get scared , so I started to yell for my son and it would barely let me do that! I felt paralyzed...so I remember forcing my yells out for my son! eventually my son heard me , because he is up in the loft sleeping..he woke up and yelled MOM are you ok? and I go up and my heart was beating so fast. I got upset and said out loud why did you do this to me !!!! and i couldn't sleep after that...I don't know what to think about this experience. or what to do , just hoping it don't get any worse

We live in a haunted house-foot steps, slamming door and the garage door opening on its own. One day the hallway light went out and went on then the door opened and a shadow man was walking in the hallway. We see apparitions usually different men from different time periods.
Paranormal investigators said we have human spirits. The 4th visit we were told that we have hundreds in the house and property as well as the entire neighborhood.
