The Easy 20 Minute Workout

A Simple Workout to Start Your Day

The Easy 20 Minute Workout described below is designed for all of us on the go. It is simple, effective and doesn't interfere with our schedule because it can be done in a hotel away from home.

First begin with 5 minutes of stretching. Why stretching? Well after laying in the same position for 6-8 hours we need to lubricate our joints and warm-up our muscles. Stretching will keep us from injuring ourselves.

Now get down on the floor and with your back flat twist your hips and throw that leg over to the other side then reverse doing the same for the other leg. Next stand with feet apart and arms out at a 90-degree angle and touch your left toe with your right hand then switch to the other toe with your left hand. After the toe touches and in the same position touch your left hand to your left ankle and reach for the sky with the other hand then switch sides. Continue doing these stretches for 5 minutes.

Next we will get on the floor and do push-ups for 2 minutes, setups for 2 minutes and jumping jacks for 1 minute. This will really get the blood flowing and the heart working.

Now we will do our crunches. Laying flat on your back with your hands behind your head allow your right elbow to touch your left knee then switch to the left elbow -right knee for 2 minutes. Then lying on your back still with legs stiff lift them six inches off the ground and hold for 20 seconds or 6 times for 2 minutes. Then still on your back lift your pelvis off the ground and peddle with your feet in the air for 1 minute.

Almost done just 5 minutes to go. In a standing position run in place lifting knees high for 3 minutes. Then with hands on hips stretch out with the left foot and lunge forward. Then repeat using your right foot. Do these lunges for 2 minutes.

Now with your heart rate pumping pretty good walk around at a normal paced until your heart slows and your breathing returns to normal.

There you have the Easy 20 Minute Workout.

Remember never start a new exercise program until you have consulted your physician to make sure its right for you.
