The Effects of House Hold Chemicals and Their Natural Alternatives
Household Chemicals the Silent Killers
The first topic I will discuss on the effects of household chemicals is which chemicals are bad for your health. There are many different house hold chemicals that give off many poisonous odors. These may be things that we use every day for many different reasons. These different chemicals give off toxins that enter our body and can make us sick. Some of these chemicals are stain are bleach, pine sol, cleaners, ammonia, glass cleaners, polish, sprays, disinfectants, and many other cleaning products. Some other chemicals are detergents, paints, gasoline, polishes, sprays, and many others. These are every day products we all use in our households. Not only can these products make us sick but they can harm our pets and kids also. We should be extra careful when using these products in the next topic, I will discuss why.
The next topic I will discuss is the effects household chemicals can have on your body. The main problem with household chemicals is that they let off toxins. Toxins are very bad for our health because they can cause many different illnesses. Some of the effects of chemical toxins can be mild or severe to our health. I will now discuss some of the different effects of certain chemicals can have on our body. Furniture cleaners let off a toxin that's called, formaldehyde something we use almost every day. Formaldehyde can cause you to become tired, restless, and give you headaches.
Another toxin that can affect you is called, benzene. This is a terrible toxin because it can cause you to be at a greater risk of getting leukemia. Benzene is a very popular chemical because it can be found in so many different household cleaning products. Some of these products are detergents, cleaners, paints, gasoline, and other similar products. If you inhale too much of this toxin you can get severe headaches as well.
Another toxin that can affect you is called, petroleum distillate. This toxin is found in metal polishes, like brasso. This toxin can harm your eyes, kidney, skin, and nerves. You should be very careful to not inhale too much of this chemical when using it.
Another toxin that can affect you is called, cresol. This toxin is found in many disinfectants and can cause many problems. This toxin can cause breathing problems, dizziness, diarrhea, kidney problems, headaches, and stomach aches. You should be very careful again with any disinfectants to not inhale.
Another toxin that can affect you is called, nitrobenzene. This toxic toxin is so serious it can even cause death. This toxin is found in polishes that we use for many different tasks. This toxin can cause headaches, migraines, affect your skin, breathing problems, vomiting, upset stomach, and as I listed above even death. This is a very severe toxin and should be used with extreme caution when using this chemical.
There are many other toxins found in numerous chemicals that we should be aware of. One in particular is Clorox bleach, or any form of bleach. There are many toxins found in bleach as I listed above and they are very bad. I have used bleach myself and got very sick from it. When bleach is inhaled it makes you feel very nauseous very fast. You cannot breathe it's like it is crushing your lungs. Then your chest starts to hurt you badly and you feel as it is being crushed. The feeling last with you for a long time also and is very hard to get rid of. If this happens to you, immediately wash your face and go outside for fresh air. You should take many deep breathes of air outside and stay outside for a while. This is a good way to recover from any inhalation of the other toxins I listed above.
The last topic I will discuss on the effects of household chemicals is the natural alternatives. There are many fruits and natural chemicals you can use to replace chemicals with. If you want to clean your sink, floor, tub, pots, pans, anything that needs scrubbing. The product you can use for this is very simple just some vinegar and baking soda. If you combine these two elements the possibilities of them are endless. Some other uses for this combination are to unclog drains, polisher, stain remover and so on. This is one of the most popular safe cleaning combos out there. My whole family and I use this cleaning combination for many household chores.
Another great cleaning health tool is using limes or lemons for cleaning. You can use these to clean glass, deodorize the air, wash clothes, and so on. The citric acid in these products gives everything a great smell after their done being cleaned.
The most popular health cleaning tool is water. Water can be used to clean almost anything. If water alone cannot help clean then just add a little soap and that's all you need. When you have water you will definitely be in good hands.
When using household chemicals it is always a good idea to be cautious. Many household chemicals carry toxins which can harm you very bad. When using chemicals in the house you should always wear gloves, long sleeve clothes, and a mask if available. This will help you from inhaling and getting the chemicals on your skin. If you cannot get any of this you can always use healthy alternatives to clean with. So always be cautious around chemicals because it's better to be safe than sorry.
