The Effects of Music

Music can help you relax when you are stressed. Classical music works great, but get the kind that moves slowly. There are many classical works that can get you fired up and excited, and you don't want that. Try drinking tea while you sit back and enjoy some piano works. It is best if you don't let anything distract you, like the people that live with you, family, electronics and the phone. Listen to the whole CD, if it is one disk. I mean really listen. Concentrate on the melody, or just one instrument. Try not to think of anything else but the music. Before you go to sleep it can help you to relax and get ready for bed. The way that easy listening notes and pleasant instruments sound really affects the body tremendously. Your mind is more at ease and you feel much better. Even when you are getting ready for the day, play some classical music. This puts you in a good mood to start the day off right.

Sometimes it is beneficial to let your feelings out, but in a good way. What I mean is to pour your feelings out with music. When you are sad, listen to a few sad songs. Get that sadness out of you. How does this make sense? Sadness is an emotion that can be detrimental to your health. If you hold your emotions in too long, you can hurt your body, your mind, and also your whole well being. To gradually get out of feeling sad, slowly change your music selection until your are listening to upbeat music. I tell you, it will work wonders. When you are driving in a car, try to listen to slow jazz, easy listening, any music that makes you feel good. You will feel less road rage and have less accidents. How? Your ears pick up the music, then your brain makes you feel what the music is like; by sending signals to your body. Then your heart rate increases, and your body starts to get hyped up if you listen to fast music. This puts your nerves on edge, because they are ready to act fast. So this puts your body in a heightened state. If something irritates you, you act on it quickly, on impulse, and without thinking. All of this is in part by listening to fast music. That is the power of music.

A much better way to get rage out is to listen to rock music. It sounds ludicrous, but hear me out. I'm sure there are hardcore rock fans out there, but I mean normal rock. Not speed metal, death metal, or variations of these. If you do, I'm sure someone will complain as to how loud it is. More importantly though, fast rock or rock with a super loud sound will get your body into a 'ready to do anything' state. Normal rock is the best to vent out your anger, with a moderate listening volume. If you blast the music at a high volume, you can become swept up in the music and forget why you were mad in the first place. By pouring out your emotions into the music, this is a healthy way to vent your anger. This is much better than holding your anger in. If you do that, your anger will build up until you let it out in an inappropriate way.

To enhance virtually anything that you, listen to pleasant, upbeat music. Cleaning your home to oldies will make your work seem to fly by. It's the nostalgia factor. You remember what you were doing when you first heard those songs and time just flies by. Having friends over and playing music playing low in the background makes their visit seem more pleasant. Or if you don't listen to oldies, try some dance music. This will put your body in a mood to move and dance. Cleaning will seem fun and easy.

To find inspiration and heal your body, find some uplifting music to listen to. How do you heal your body? By putting your body in a good, receptive state, your mind will eventually feel that you can accomplish anything. You will melt away many of your troubles and be happy. All of these tips will only work if you really listen to the music, and your body will literally sync with the sounds in a way. When working out, or running you can go farther and lift more with a fast beat, like in dance music or drum and bass. A little advice though, listening to music that has a very fast beat will make your body move faster and you can strain yourself. Avoid house music. This is a little faster than dance and you will end up burnt out quickly. With drum and bass, don't listen to it too loud, you can damage your ears, and intensify your work out too much. Can music really heal your body? Certain kinds of music can. Headaches can be lessened with easy listening and classical music. Go for the purely instrumental type though. Singing voices will not help. How does this work? As the music from each instrument travels through the air, it can soothe you and put your mind at ease. It has something to do with the wavelengths of each note, but I don't fully understand it myself.

Even listening to love songs can help you to feel hopeful and care for another person. There are many types of love songs, but stay away from the sad ones that talk of lost loves. This will just make you feel sad when you are trying to feel good. It also helps you with your feelings as well, so you can connect with people on a more emotional level.
