Testosterone increases sex drive in males and females. Females naturally produce testosterone in their ovaries and adrenal glands. Males naturally produce it in their testicles. That's why, when dogs are castrated, their sex drive is eliminated or reduced. Taking this steroid hormone will increase the intensity of sexual thoughts, and the feelings associated with sexual intercourse.
Testosterone can also result in feelings of intense hostility. After rubbing this hormone on my wrists for a week, I noticed an astounding elevation in feelings of anger. There is a theory proposed by James Howard at Support for Testosterone Theory of Human Evolution that increasing levels of testosterone in the population may account for an elevation in cases of road rage. The idea is that individuals who have higher levels of this hormone tend have more sexual activity resulting in more children, perpetuating the high producing testosterone gene. So, the high producing testosterone gene continues to pass and increase among the population. The gene's capacity to produce testosterone continues to increase overtime resulting in more members of the population experiencing greater feelings of hostility.
I noticed that when I took testosterone, my thinking abilities decreased. I am attuned to my ability to reason, since I am a scientist. So, people who lift heavy weights excessively may develop less of an ability to reason. The idea is that they are generating more testosterone when they lift heavy weights. Testosterone can dull thinking.
Testosterone can increase your ability to feel dominant. It makes you stronger and braver. You might be inclined to do things that you have never done before on this hormone. You are more inclined to take risks. If you had a timid personality previously to taking testosterone, you would be surprised at how much you would change with the hormone.
Testosterone is a steroid hormone that can have profound effects on the body. Some testosterone is needed for healthy functioning. I would not recommend this as a health supplement due to its numerous negative effects.
