Water can help the skin maintain its youthful appearance by allowing skin to stay pliable. Water is used to dissolve vitamins that will be used to nurture skin. While there are many topical treatments that can be used on the skin to give a healthy appearance, skin that is well hydrated will remain healthy for a longer amount of time. Smoking, drinking, and not getting enough sleep can rob the skin of essential nutrients and cause the skin to tighten and become dry. The skin needs to be hydrated on a constant basis or it will begin to show signs of aging.
Most studies show that a person of average height and weight should drink about eight glasses of water per day or at least 40 oz. This may seem like a lot of water, but in reality, the water will be used to fuel the entire body. Water is not held anywhere in the body, it is used as soon as it enters the body so that it can continue to function normally. People who exercise need to make sure their bodies stay hydrated at all times. Otherwise, they could become ill.
People who engage in more exercise than other people or who work in environments where they sweat constantly need to drink even more water during the day. While many people do not drink enough water, they do drink some which is a start. Water is in all drinks and in most foods. When combined with healthy meals, water will help the body to digest food more efficiently and use more nutrients quickly.
When a person begins to drink more water, they will notice that their skin will look healthier. This is because water also acts as an antioxidant that removes toxins from the body. Toxins that hide in the skin can cause acne, cause dull looking skin, and puffiness. This will begin to disappear once a person drinks more water during the day and also eats healthy meals.
