The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a first-person role playing game. Oblivion has a total of ten races that you can play and they are: Argonian, Breton, Dark Elf, High Elf, Imperial, Khajiit, Nord, Orc, Redguard, and Wood Elf. Each race has different skill bonuses, special abilities, and plays certain classes better than others. For example, a Khajiit has high agility and acrobat skills which make them a good thief class.
There are 21 classes that you can choose from in Oblivion. There is also the ability to create a custom class. You can name you custom class, and you pick the attribute bonuses and what your major skills are going to be.
To level you character in Oblivion, you increase your major skills. When a major skill increases you gain experience to your level. After you obtain enough skill ups your level increases. Once you gain a level, you must find a bed or sleeping bag to use in order to gain the level and increase some of your attributes.
To travel in the game, you can run, ride a horse, and there is the option of opening your map and clicking on the place that you want to travel to. Using the map to travel cuts down on the run time but it also eliminates the encounters that you come across by running.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has a lot to do in the game. Oblivion has over 100 hours of playing time, and many quests to do. The Playstation 3 version also comes with the Knights of the Nine which adds additional content to the game.
The graphics for Oblivion are outstanding. I am not currently using an HDTV and the graphics still look awesome. The things you can do in this game compared to other role-playing games, adds so much more enjoyment to the game. You can steal from or pickpocket people, break into houses, have a bounty on your head, and go to jail.
The PC version of Oblivion has more additions than the PS3 version. I have yet to see any official word if the extra content will be available for download in the future for the PS3. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a must own for fans of role-playing games. It is also one of the best games available for Sony's Playstation 3.
