The Electric Car You Never Really Hear About

Tesla Motors

Have you ever heard of the "Tesla Roadster"? It's an electric car that will one day change the future.

The "Tesla Roadster", is designed by Tesla Motors. This manufacture was founded in 2003, by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that an electric car would be awesome. After around 5 years, the "Tesla Roadster" hit the streets. No one ever saw a car like it. About two years later 1,500 Roadsters were drive emissions-free in more than 30 countries.

Let's take a look inside.

Each Roadster is equipped with a battery pack and power trains. This allows the car to help lessen global dependence on gasoline and to drive down the cost of electric vehicles. The car has a 375 volt AC induction air-cooled electric motor with variable frequency. The battery has 6,831 individual cells, which allows it to last 245 miles on the road. It takes around 3.5 hours to charge and the battery life is 7 years or 100,000 miles.

So now what.

"Tesla Motors" hopes car manufacturers will cooperate with them, so more electric cars can be put on the road. By not depending on gasoline operating cars, it will make things a lot cheaper for people and better for the environment. "Tesla Motors" wants to change the future of driving and how cars are made; all they need is support from car manufactures.
