The Emmy Awards~~Party Time After the Emmy's~~Oh, What Fun for the Stars!

The Governers Ball, TV Guides Big Party.

eiffelvu
When the the awards ceremony is over, the stars all have parties to attend, the winners and the losers..actually there are not a losers when you go to these parties considering how lavish each event is going to be and the food that is being served...boy ,what I wouldn't give to be able to attend one of these...but dreaming aside, let's see just where and what these celebrities will be going and doing

The biggest and most lavish party of all has to be the Governors Ball, this year hosted by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences...This year the motif is going to be in honor of Old Hollywood and will have a Black and White Art Deco theme. The entire party room and tables will be decorated in those non-colors...Even the gifts to each guest will be a Dark Dove Chocolate in a black and white box that will double as a picture frame.

But, it is the food at this party that usually gets all the press...so what are they serving this year?

First course :
Tower of mango and dungeness crab with avocado, cucumber, tomato, crisp lotus root and sweet ginger-soy dressing

Second course:
Beef fillet Mignon and red wine-braised short rib with onion, marrow flan, potatoes fondant and asparagus...Hmm, what is marrow flan?

Dessert:
Milk chocolate mousse with champagne gelee, berries in Dove dark chocolate cup and cherry vanilla cake...Hmm,,,I'll have some of cake please.

And, of course, there will be drinking...but what spirits will be served?
Grey goose vodka
Beaulieu Vineyard Carneros
Chardonnay Reserve 2004
Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Laurent Perrier Champagne....I'll have some of that one ...cheers

It's not easy to throw a party this big for all the A-list guests, months of preparations go one before even one person sets foot into this party
Here are a few of the behind the scenes goings on;

There will be 28 bartenders
427waiters
130 culinary staff members
8000 pieces of china
5000 champagne flutes
300 calla lilies
11,000 asparagus spears
675 pounds of Dungeness Crab
875 lbs of Angus free- range beef Tenderloin
1400 lbs of Angus free range boneless beef short rib
20 gallons on extra virgin olive oil
12,000 yards of fabric
1288 bottle of Beaulieu Vineyard wine
360 bottles of Laurent-Perrier Champagne

all intended for 2,800 lucky guests, some of whom will be carrying that coveted lady Emmy

But ,that's just one party,

TV Guide is going to hosting a party too, and this one has a completely different kind of theme going for it.

Those lucky quests are going to virtually traveling to France via the Marie Antoinette era, by creating a 15,000 square foot manicured garden, which is going to include 50 varieties of trees and fancy topiaries, ala those Royal days in France before the revolution. All this is going to be assembled in the parking lot behind one of "the" Hot spots of Hollywood party goers today, Les Deux, where 1300 guests will party under imported black crystal chandeliers and rock to the music of of special guests, John Legend and Band from TV with Greg Grunberg, Hugh Laurie and James Denton....

They will indulge in French inspired smoked salmon bisque and mini crepes...Models dressed in costumes of that famous period will make their way through the crowd, filling and refilling the Champagne flutes with Perrier-jouet....

All this, over the top, decadence will still have a good environmental ending when, instead of those opulent gift bags usually given out, TV Guide is going to plant 100,000 trees in Africa .....

So that's how Hollywood's Television elite will be celebrating...what about you? I'll be home in my fancy schmata, or using another term, robe ,and will be popping some corn instead of champagne...:)

After two previews, I'm hoping for one of this year's show (which I skipped, though I'm glad that "Sopranos" and Jeremy Piven won--go HBO!)

I love trying to get invited to fancy corporate dinners by pretending like I'm interested in this company. I'm not a wedding crasher, but a corporate job fair party crasher... lol
