The Emory in Ferndale to open outdoor seating

Patrons of The Emory will soon be able to enjoy their brunch or a beer outdoors. The Ferndale City Commission has recently approved by 5-0 an application from The Emory's owner to serve food and alcohol to bistro-style sidewalk tables between April 15 and Oct. 31 of each year.

The Emory is located just south of Nine Mile Road on the east side of Woodward. The bar and grille is known for its trendy, hardwood atmosphere. Most don't know that The Emory is named after the farmer who owned land in Toledo, Ohio, where the hardwood was harvested. Lunch and dinner is served all week along with a full bar, and breakfast is served during the weekends.

The sidewalk seating will be about 536 square feet along Woodward and Troy streets and will seat 48 patrons. The new patio will be open anytime The Emory is open.
