Here's the thing, when I predicted the "Bolts" to win I didn't know the Patriots were going to be beyond perfect. I mean, do you think that is fair to any prognosticator to have to predict in the face of that type of voodoo? I certainly don't think it's fair and I further think I deserve a pat on the back since both Rivers and L.T. got hurt against the Colts.
I wrote another article that predicted that the Chargers could beat the Colts if Manning and the offensive line had a mediocre game and they did. Yes, I am beginning to feel a little bit cocky. How "Smart Alecky" am I beginning to feel?
I don't believe the Patriots are going to go 19-0. The Chargers are limping into the Patriot's home territory and they will probably be without Rivers. I think that may just be as well. After all, he was yelling at the Indy fans and I began to see signs of Ryan Leaf; you know a brilliant pass followed by the actions of a three-year-old.
Of course I may be wrong and the Patriots may easily defeat the Chargers. At that point, I guess I lose. I guess even though I picked a team that started with many losses and an unproven head coach to get this far, I will be just an average "guesser" when it comes to seeing the future, and, certainly that is true, I am a much better historian than a futurist.
However, should the Patriots win and eliminate the San Diego Chargers, I will make another prediction; the Green Bay Packers will beat the New York Giants and then they will beat the New England Patriots.
Certainly I have a reason for that belief. It is simply this, I have never seen a football team having so much fun as the Packers and I have never seen a football team playing with as much tension as the Patriots. Yes, they are winning and there is no question they have massive talent, but, they are playing with a monkey and it's starting to show.
Let me just say this: When the two teams are in a neutral arena; when the crowd is a cross section of America, the Pack will be the favorite; they will have home field advantage and, finally, they will take the crown from the Patriots in a battle of Cosmic Justice.
