The Enormous Importance of Page Rank in Blogging

Dee Boston
Every day, there are many new opportunities for the burgeoning internet community to make money. And as you may be aware, Web 2.0 blogging is included in those choices. In fact, many of the most attractive money making ventures online are in Web 2.0.

One pervasive avenue of making money on the Web 2.0 arena is to create an excellent blog, then use it to sell ads. When it comes to attracting advertisers, the ability to achieve high a Page Rank in Google's search engine is very important. High page rank plus solid links pointing to your site are key to making money online. According to WebProGuide, page rank is essentially a number from 0 to 10 that basically rates and measures the content and connectivity of your blog. Page Rank is part of Google's ever-growing portfolio of services. So, when you choose to money with your blog, the first thing you have to do is work on improving its page rank. If not, your efforts to make money quickly will be futile.

For a higher Page Rank, you need to have high traffic websites to connect to your blog. And of course, they will want to link to your site if it suits their own interests, so ensure that the content on your blog is always helpful and that you keep it updated. The more frequently you update the better, but do add to the content at least monthly.

It's important to note that the best sites are not interested in randomly linking to blogs that are little more than a rant. But if you can talk about a popular subject, create a blog about it today by all means! And here's a tip for selecting a topic for your blog-- go with something that has a wide audience and has a clear goal. Your objective is to develop a huge base of fans with a large population.

After you accomplish this, advertisers will want to sell their products on your blog because they'll get wide exposure. Or, you can choose to write a much narrower topic focus, then prospect for advertisers related to that topic. This is a riskier money making approach, but can still be profitable. If you have the time and you're fairly efficient at blogging, I suggest you try both.

Now here's where the money comes in. When I talk about use advertising as a source of income, I am referring not to Adsense. (Not that I have anything against Adsense mind you). Instead I am referring to the companies who use pay-per-click (PPC) to get the word out about their services. Proactively target those companies and believe me you'll find they are willing to pay much larger bucks than you may mostly likely receive using an Adsense model alone. Simply contact them by phone or email, and once they find out about your blog's high performance, they'll certainly be open to hear your proposal. Be sure to check out the cost per click they are currently paying and you can see that your income will be higher than Adsense revenue. Simply put, the higher your page rank of your blog, the will make you more money for you.
