The Enterprising Kitchen in Ravenswood Closes December 10, 2010

The Enterprising Kitchen, or TEK, closed on December 10, 2010 and was located at 4426 North Ravenswood Avenue in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. On more than a few occasions, I bought their soaps and soap party favors for showers and weddings. I was in the facility once, but my other purchases were made from their website. I loved the whole concept of TEK, as it offered life skills and employment to women, who are trying to become self sufficient. The women are trained to make and sell soaps, shower gels, candles and other spa items. Their candles were some of the best smelling and long-lasting candles that I've ever used.

I loved the variety of merchandise that they carried, and shipping was always fast and their prices were very reasonable. All the money that was generated from the sales of their products went back to support The Enterprising Kitchen. After the women were trained, TEK tried to place them in jobs in the Chicago area.
