The Veil
If you are getting married for the first time, you owe it to yourself to wear a beautiful gossamer veil. While I originally was not going to wear a veil, my grandmother convinced me that every groom dreams of seeing his bride in a white veil. Even though I had a bit of trouble picturing my fiancé caring about this, I decided to trust her. When I tried on my first veil I fell in love. Suddenly, I realized: I was going to be a bride.
The Garland
If you have a vision, do not let family members dissuade you from it. For a fairy wedding, halos of flowers around the heads of the bride, the bridesmaids, and the flower girls is a must. Since I was going to be wearing a veil, I decided that I would simply do both. I would wear the veil, and the garland of flowers over top of it.
Hair Extensions
If your hair is shoulder length or shorter, consider wearing hair extensions. Permanent hair extensions can be damaging to the hair, because they can tear the strands at the places they are tied or glued in. Instead, choose clip-in hair extensions. At a salon specializing in extensions, special order real human hair dyed your color. Then, have the stylist sew them on to special removable hair clips.
Styling and Curling
To achieve the perfect fairy hair look, you will need to have your hair in long, loose flowing curls. Whether you go to a salon or do your hair yourself with the help of your friends, be sure to give yourself several hours. Take a strip of hair and spray it with hairspray. With a wide curling iron, curl the hair all the way to the scalp. Do this with your entire head of hair. Don't worry if the curls look too tight, because they will soon fall out into long loose curls and waves. Finally, drench your entire head with hairspray. You will need it for all of the dancing and hugging you have ahead.
Despite all of this styling and hair spray, when you are finished, you will look ethereal and natural, as if you have just stepped out of a wooded fairy glen.
