Her husband Minister Cox continued ministering about love, he used a great example, himself. He began telling the congregation how imperfect and dysfunctional he was, but God didn't see him like everybody else. God put someone in his life to prove the evidence. The Evidence is God's love; God will always send someone in the earth to complete His mission.
Ronnie met a lady who allowed him to live on the church ground in a trailer that one of her children had given her. All she asked is that Ronnie clean the church, and clean the church property. Ronnie said that he didn't do that like he should have, and when she would correct him, he thought it was complaining. Even though Ronnie was disobedient, God's love was faithful.
Ronnie said the lady that displayed God's love constantly was Pastor D.J. Cutler; Pastor Cutler corrected him in love, and never once stopped loving him. Did not imitate the way he talked, but encouraged him in the things of the Lord. Pastor Cutler told him "in my own words" the Lord loves you, the Lord has a plan for you. Pastor Cutler was the evidence of God's love, even when he was found to be unlovable; God had someone to be a concrete example of His love. The evidence is loving with the love of God, a love that exceeds our own fleshly love. God's love is 24/7, 365 days a year, a love that you can depend on, unchangeable and can't lie.
Minister Cox concluded his message by letting us know that the love of God meets every need in your life. He received God's unfailing love, and God gave him a wife, and son. Now he needs the love that God gave Pastor Cutler when he was staying in the trailer, now he's a property owner.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that we might have love and have it more abundantly.
Scripture Study:
I Cor. 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Eccl. 9:9 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun-all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun.
Galations 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
The Sheep and the Goats-Matthew 25:31-46;
Something to Think About:
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the King will say to those on his right, "Come, you who are blessed of my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
Then he will say to those on his left, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not cloth me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."
They also will answer, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?"
He will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me."
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

Post a CommentRight on target, Lodie. Sometimes we spend so much time trying to clean other people's field that we miss the treasure that is burried within. It is only through loving as Christ loved us that we can know that greatest joy of letting Christ live within us.
Excellent article Lodie.
