"Is everything Jake?" Neko asked, poking her head into the lab. "Nancy's asleep. I locked her in her room, but I'm not keep on doing things like that." She said, looking down at her feet.
"Oh applesauce." Rebecca said, smiling and winking.
"Not bad." Neko said, folding her arms in front of her chest and smiling. "But leave the slang to me. I'm the cats meow after all." The girl said, pointing at herself with her thumb.
Rebecca giggled. Her eyes then fell on Neko's tail which was swaying back and forth as though it had a mind of its own.
"Neko." Rebecca began. "Can I ask... you something?" The girl asked, blushing a little.
"Of course." Neko said, stepping further into the lab.
"Can I... examine you?" Rebecca asked.
Neko was taken aback. "Examine me?" She asked. "Why? I'd be embarrassed." Neko said, looking away.
"I promise to be respectful." Rebecca said, hopefully.
"Sure." Neko said.
Rebecca got to her feet and headed over to a long, metallic table. The girl patted the top of the table. "Lay down here. On your back please." She said. Neko nodded and did as she was told. Lying down on the table she laid her chin on her arms. Rebecca gently took Neko's cat-tail into her hands and began examining it. It was real.
Neko giggle. "Hey..." She said, in a low, happy voice. "That tickles..."
"Sorry." Rebecca said, letting the tail go.
"No." Neko said, shaking her head. "It's ok. If your doing it." Neko said, blushing and looking away.
Rebecca's lower jaw dropped. "Why... Why are you infatuated with me like this?" The girl asked.
Neko's smile vanished. "Because... You're the first person who's treated me so nicely." Neko answered. "You're the cats pajamas you know that?"
"Really? You've helped so many people." Rebecca said.
"It's ok. I'm happy now." Neko said.
Rebecca blinked several times. She really was learning a lot about her hero. She thought everyone from her time period loved her. Rebecca continued her examination of Neko. She examined her cat ears and then moved onto the rest of her body.
"Are your senses like a house cats?" Rebecca asked.
"Yep." Neko said, closing her eyes.
"I wonder..." Rebecca began. Smiling mischievously. The girl grabbed Neko's sides and began tickling.
"EEP!" Neko yelped. The cat girl kicked her feet as Rebecca tickled and poked her ribs.
"I thought you were ticklish." Rebecca said, as she began tickling each of Neko's ribs. Neko wiggled left and right on the table. Her body shook and vibrated on top of the metallic table.
"HEY... STOP!" Neko giggled. Even though she was incredibly ticklish.
"I thought it was a proven fact that all girls liked to be tickled." Rebecca said, with a smile. Rebecca stopped her tickling. "You also said you tickled all your fans."
"I ab-so-lute-ly do." Neko said, nodding. "You're just my first fan."
Rebecca didn't know what to say. "I see... Well I tickle all my hero's." Rebecca dug her fingers into Neko's ribs and started tickling once more. Neko's giggled grew steadily louder and her struggles grew more frantic. No matter how torturous Rebecca's tickling grew she never tried to defend her ribs or block the tickling.
"WAIT...!" Neko laughed, her chest heaved as the tickling continued.
Rebecca smiled as her fingers continued to dance over Neko's ticklish ribs. A few seconds later Rebecca began pinching and teasing the rest of Neko's body. She squeezed Neko's thighs, tickled the back of her knees and then raked her nails up and down the soles of Neko's kicking feet.
Neko yelped. "OK! OK!" The cat-girl laughed. She pulled her feet away from Rebecca's tickling fingers. "I can't take it anymore!" The cat-girl cried.
Rebecca smiled, but still felt a strange aching in her heart. Neko was a fantastic girl. She couldn't understand how anyone could hate her. Even herself in the future.
The door to the lab suddenly opened and Nancy entered. Her arms were crossed in front of her chest and she was smiling warmly. "So what's going on in here?" The girl asked. Her eyes fell on Neko. "Oh! The examination! I remember doing this myself." The girl said, with a smirk.
"How did you get out of the room?" Neko asked.
"I had this place built especially for me you idiot." Nancy snapped. "I think I can find my way out of any room here."
Neko narrowed her eyes and pressed her ears firmly against the sides of her head. She was obviously annoyed. "You're so mean. Fake Rebecca."
"You can call me what you want, but I'm not fake. If anything Rebecca here could be considered the fake. I'm two years and three months older and wiser than she is."
"Watch it!" Rebecca snapped, narrowing her eyes at Nancy. "I'm not a fake! You may have the same skeletal system as I do, but that doesn't mean anything. You could be a clone. No doubt one of my rivals has some strands of hair or even some of my blood."
"Let me guess..." Nancy began, scratching her chin. "Just now Neko told you a sob story about how you are her only fan. And then you spent the last few minutes tickling her to keep your mind off your breaking heart." The girls said. Folding her hands together in front of her chest and closing her eyes. "So sad. So sad."
Nancy walked up to Neko and stared down at the cat-girl. "I always wondered why you had cat-ears and a tail. After a while I stopped thinking about it." The girl said, grabbing Neko's right foot. With her left hand she began tickling the bare sole.
Neko's eyes went wide as the laughter exploded from her curled lips. The girl wiggled her toes and kicked her feet wildly. "STOP IT! YOU'RE... NOT... ALLOWED...!"
"Hey!" Rebecca snapped, heading over to Nancy and grabbing the hand Nancy was tickling Neko's foot with. "She doesn't want you to do that."
"Whatever." Nancy said, turning away from the table. "I just remembered that was her most ticklish spot. I wanted to torture her a bit." The girls aid, with a smirk.
"Just dry up you bimbo!" Neko snapped, waving her hands wildly in the air.
Nancy smirked. "Fine. I'll see you two later." The girl said, turning on her heels and leaving.
"I'm not keen with that dame." Neko said, sitting up and crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"Are you ok?" Rebecca asked. Noticing Neko was rather upset.
"I'm Jake." Neko said, nodding and jumping off the table. "I'm going to take a nap. See you Rebecca!" Neko said, and with that she headed out of the lab.
"See you." Rebecca said, waving goodbye to the cat-girl. The girl stood by the table for several moments running everything she had heard, seen and learnt that day. She had to find who Nancy was and if there was any truth to what she was saying. "What could happen in three months? Neko's so nice and considerate. There's no way she would do anything to me... Come on... Think!"
Neko ran into the room. "Rebecca!" Neko cried.
"What's wrong?" Rebecca said, concerned.
Neko took several deep breaths before she finally replied, "Nancy's gone!"
