This Grand Castle Offers Royal Lodging and Magical Medieval Fun!

Attention all kings and queens, lords and ladies, knights and fair maidens! If you're looking for a Las Vegas hotel where fun and excitement rules, you'll want to book a room at the Excalibur, a magnificent castle where every guest gets the royal treatment whether they stay for a day, a week or longer.

As the name implies, the theme of the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada is medieval. The 28-story Excalibur features two 2,000-room towers ascending behind a turreted castle complete with a moat and drawbridge. Rooms range from $50 to $300; amenities include free high-speed internet, fitness center, seven restaurants and a huge heated outdoor pool area with cabanas, fire pits and relaxation pool. A free monorail links the Excalibur to the Mandalay Bay and Luxor hotels.

The Excalibur Hotel and Casino offers a variety of entertainment for all ages. Thunder From Down Under: Australia's Hottest Hunks is perfect for a bachelorette party or ladies who love ogling good-looking, chiseled men. Broadway's longest-running solo show, Defending the Caveman is a hilarious and insightful exploration of the differences between men and women. Fans of stand-up comedy can see the legendary funnyman Louie Anderson in action. The Excalibur also offers free live music and a spacious casino with the standard gambling opportunities one expects in a Las Vegas hotel.

Children (and young-at-heart adults) can play arcade games at Excalibur's Fantasy Faire carnival midway on the lower level, or experience the thrilling SpongeBob Squarepants 4D Special FX ride. At night, you can watch a free, fearsome dragon battle at the castle's moat. Excalibur's Castle walk is a shopper's paradise with the ambiance of a medieval bazaar.

My family's most memorable experience at the Excalibur was the Tournament of Kings dinner show, where jousting knights on horseback, dancing maidens, fire-breathing dragons, fireworks and invading armies entertained us while we ate a delicious meal, sans silverware! Eating with our fingers in a dimly lit arena was somewhat of a challenge, but it added a great deal of fun and medieval realism to the experience. Tournament of Kings is one of the most popular dinner shows in Las Vegas, for good reason, so you might want to buy tickets in advance.

The Excalibur Hotel and Casino is located on the Strip at 3850 Las Vegas Blvd. South in Las Vegas, Nevada.
