The Exotic Beaches of Orissa

Orissa is a state of beautiful and exotic beaches, free from any pollution, with very neat and clean sea. You can have different types of sea foods, for example like shrimps, giant crabs, Tunas and local cuisines. Orissa is surrounded by Bay of Bengal Sea with dream come true sea beaches with peace loving Oriya natives. Namely Puri beach, Konark, Gopalpur, Chandipur and Paradeep sea beaches. It has also one of the best fresh water lakes called Chilika with beautiful tourist spots with one of its kind.

Puri - Exotic Beaches of Orissa
Puri the abode of Lord Jagganath one of the four Hindu spiritual pilgrimage places, is located 60 kilometers away from Orissa Capital city Bhubaneswar and the Airport. If you have to visit Puri from Bhubaneswar you can take cab, train, or buses. It is one hour drive by Cab or train from Bhubaneswar to Puri. Puri has sea beach stretched about 12 kilometers long with very friendly sea beach. One can avail cheap hotels to five star hotels at puri from traditional to most luxury one.

Konark - Exotic Beaches of Orissa
Konark lies in between Bhubaneswar and Puri and it is the part of Golden Triangle. It is 65 Kilometers away from Bhubaneswar and 60 kilometers from Puri via marine drive. Konark has the world best Sun temple constructed on the beaches of Konark. Konark beach called Chandrabhaga where you can enjoy the morning raising and evening sun set, which is very unique. You can stay at state owner hotel or move from Puri or Bhubaneswar.

Konark Sun temple sculptures are very remarkable and very unique.

Gopalpur Sea - Exotic Beaches of Orissa
Gopalpur lies south of Orissa near Berhampur which is 187 kilometers from Bhubaneswar. Berhampur is well connected by trains from south and north, as well as by buses. Gopalpur beach has many small cottages as well as you can avail luxury hotels. The best hotel is Trident hotel, which is a three star hotel with all modern amenities.

Chandipur - Exotic Beaches of Orissa
Chandipur beach is near Balasore town which is near to border of Orissa and west Bengal. This beach is very unique in nature, water recedes with low tide and beach comes to life with high tide. The beach is also located near MES defense missile testing ground. There are some local hotels but you can also stay at Balasore. Balasore has well connected train service and also buses.

Chilika - Exotic Beaches of Orissa
Chilika lies near the mouth of Bay of Bengal so when high tides occurs , sea mixes with sweet water of the lake. Chilika is 90 kilometers from Bhubaneswar and equal distance from Berhampur. The nearest station is at Balugaon is well connected by buses from both Bhubaneswar and Berhampur.

You get best sea carbs, tiger prawns and other sea foods at Chilika.

Migratory birds every year come in winter to this lake lay their eggs and fly away in summer. This lake is also resides Irrawadi dolphins.

So, if you plan to visit India do visit Orissa to enjoy its hospitality, sea foods and its peace and calmness. You can also enjoy beach entertainment. While you are in Orissa you can purchase Konark sculptures and Patachitra.

    Good information about all the exotic beaches in Orissa. I felt like going to at least one of the beaches. Maybe when we visit India. I heard about Chilika lake and the birds that come and lay eggs every year. It must be beautiful to see it.
