The Extended Stay Hotel in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Where the Windows Open!

The Extended Stay Suites is located at 45 Glimcher Realty Way, Elizabeth, New Jersey. This Hotel is situated in a circle of other hotels all geared to long-term visitors. The one thing that sets this hotel apart is that the windows open. That may sound like a little thing, but after a day or two it's nice to be able to open the windows and air the rooms out.

The Extended Stay Suites is located right behind the Jersey Garden Mall which is a fantastic place to shop. Outlet stores such as Neiman Marcus, Lord and Taylor, Coach, Bath & Body Works, fill the two levels. There is a large food court, as well as valet parking. (Yep, valet parking for a mall)! The Extended Stay is convenient for shopping; not only is the mall within walking distance, but the hotel also provides shuttle service. Located across the street (for your eating convenience) is the IHOP Pancake House and Ruby Tuesday restaurant.

The Extended Stay has studio sized kitchens with all the utensils, pots, pans and dishes needed for your stay. The suites are roomy and comfortable, without a lot of frill. Whether in a room or a suite there is a desk area set up for your computer, with internet access available for a one-time fee of $4.99.

Housekeeping is provided once a week or you can pay a $10.00 fee to have the room serviced more often. This is somewhat different from hotels nearby where service is available daily if needed. (I am moving around trying out different lodging while in the New Jersey area.)

Internet booking rates start at $89.00 for a queen-bed room nightly, but it seems that the rates can be negotiated depending on your length of stay. As always, it pays to talk with the manager to see if there are any specials or lower rates with extended stays.

Pets are allowed with a $25.00 fee per day, up to a non-refundable maximum of $150.00. The limit is one pet per room. Here again, I must mention that the windows could be opened making the air exchange much better, which puts this on my 'good place to stay list'. With pets of any size, make or model, it's great to have fresh air! All varmints have some sort of odor after a day or so in a room with no outside ventilation.
