The Eyes Have it !

Frank
From the day you meet your new dog, until they take their last breath...The Eyes have it.

I have been privileged to have had the company of eight dogs in my life and a privilege it was.

As a child they were the buddies that you dressed up and made their mouth's look like they were talking .Their paws could wave, by squeezing their elbows .Pull their ears up straight and viola.........Surprised!

Want to take the boat out and sink it? Sure, count them in!

` Want to take an adventure on a homemade raft made of old boards and inner- tubes? Sure!

Camping in the yard? I'm in!

Love the hikes and don't worry about me, I'll eat most of what you brought for yourself.

`` Ride in the car? Whose car? Oh yes! I stand corrected. Drive the dog in his/her `` car. Let's go!

That look again, Ok, I'll roll the window down.

` It's always that look that will force the hand in any situation.

Could anyone think that anything else alive could love you more?

It's simple to secure that eternal love with a meal, cool drink, some rules and a good scratch..

It's not always convenient to do everything asked but again no words need to be spoken, those eyes have it. Ok! Let's go!

We are their very best friends that they would give their life for protecting ours.

The cute puppy days are long gone now and we're a little gray around the edges...

I'll keep up the best that I can Pop but I know you're waiting for me.

I just don't feel that good, what's happening?

Help me Pop!

A sad day has come for us both pal. I love you and I'll miss you terribly and I'll never in this life forget you.

You look at me with those beautiful brown eyes and that says it all... I know. It's time.

I love you pal.

Watching the life drain from such a wonderful friend's body is absolutely the worst moment of my life so far...

All I can remember is those eyes .....That trust. That love.

Good by my friend, we'll meet again

Pop loves.

I hope to have them all out for a walk together someday. What a day that will be.

I think this is how it goes for every dog and their "pop"

Oh, yes, that is the saddest moment ever experienced. I had a dog who had a brain tumor and could no longer remain standing. He even foamed at the mouth. At the vet's, he looked at us SO sadly. I knew what we had to do. I was so cut up about it, it still saddens me a lot. One funny thing, Frank. I think you meant to say, Voila! There! in English. You said Viola! That's a stringed musical instrument. LOL. You cracked me up with that one!

Bittersweet and beautiful. Life comes full circle for them quicker than us, which is probably for the best, if I think about it.

As George Carlin said, "life is a series of dogs."
