to the heart and soul.
The eyes don't lie --
only truth can they show.
Words can be misunderstood,
be other than what they seem.
But only truth did I see
in the eyes of Merlyn Dean.
The one who gave me
all he had to give;
The one who gave me
the only child that lived.
The one whose heart and soul
belonged only to me.
Nothing did he hide,
and gave all so freely.
The man I loved
more than life.
The man for whom
I was willing to fight.
The man who stole my heart
and made my soul sing.
And love in the eyes
of Merlyn Dean.
Kindness, compassion,
a soothing soul.
Gentle and loving,
with a heart of gold.
All of this, and
many other good things
I saw in the eyes
of Merlyn Dean.
In the midst of summer,
when the sun is high,
Turn your gaze
up to the sky.
The bluest of blue
you ever have seen.
These were the eyes
of Merlyn Dean.
I look at the daughter
we created together,
And know, in my heart,
I will love him forever.
Though he is gone,
and her eyes are green,
I feel close to him, for she has
the eyes of Merlyn Dean.
