The Face in the Mirror

Josh24
(26)Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged and handed Him over to be crucified. (27) Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around Him. (28) They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him, (29) and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand and knelt in front of Him and mocked Him. "Hail, King of the Jews!" they said. (30) They spit on Him and struck Him on the head again and again. (31) After they had mocked Him, they took off the robe and put His own clothes on Him. Then they led Him away to crucify Him.

Matthew 27: 26-31 (NIV)

Some points I would like to make:

Why would Jesus Christ, the Lord of the entire universe, endure this kind of treatment and torture at the hands of His own creation?

Why would the Stallion of Heaven come down to live in the corral of time and allow the stable attendants of Earth to beat Him within inches of His death, totally beyond recognition, and NOT call down some thunderous blast of divine judgment against them?

Why would God's Only Son (and my Savior) allow Himself to have nails driven through His wrists and feet to pin Him to a cross where He would die six hours later?

Three Questions. One Answer.

"The Face in Your Mirror"

Jesus did the hard part. The rest...is up to us.

I agree with Joy, Josh. Concise and to the point. Good job!
