Have you ever felt any of these symptoms?
• Racing heart
• Chest pains
• Feeling weak or faint
• Tingling or numbness in the hands and fingers
• Difficulty breathing
• Sweating or experiencing chills
• Feeling that you are losing control or dying
I have! I have not only been rushed to the emergency room once, but twice with these symptoms.
I thought I was having a heart attack! In fact, most people with a panic disorder first seek medical treatment
in the emergency room and are treated for symptoms related to a heart attack, before they are diagnosed with
Panic Attack Anxiety Disorder. However, if you are feeling these symptoms, I advise you to seek medical help
immediately to rule out a heart attack or other serious condition.
What is a panic attack?
A panic attack is an overwhelming intense fear that develops for no apparent reason and causes severe physical symptoms. These episodes come on suddenly and then symptoms subside within minutes. Even though the episodes are terrifying at the time, panic attacks are harmless. However, repeated episodes or Panic Attack Anxiety Disorder may cause phobias, depression, substance abuse and even lead to suicide.
What causes panic attack anxiety disorder?
What causes this disorder is unknown. Studies suggest that genetics may play a role in the cause of panic attack anxiety disorder. However, researchers do not have enough information or know the exact cause of panic attacks at this time. However, there does seem to be a connection to major life events that are potentially stressful in one's life. For example, getting married, having a child, moving, a new job, losing a job, or a death of a loved one.
There are many conventional treatments for this disorder. These treatments include medication and psychotherapy. I, like many, do not like to take medications. Most people may experience side effects from these medications. After many years searching, I have found many natural ways to treat my disorder.
