The Faeries' Ruin: Step One of the Neopet Faerie Festival Plot

When the Faeries were frozen at the beginning of the Faerie Festival everyone groaned wondering what TNT had in store for them. Would it be a plot? The start of a war? A precursor to a larger Halloween event? Whatever the case may be, at least there is something new at the site for the Faerie Festival. The portals are still locked so you can't use the Healing Springs or The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity so it would be cool if those areas got unlocked one by one when you completed a part of the plot. Sadly, the Faerieland Employment Agency is also closed so I am missing out on some easy Neopoints every day.

This part of the plot involves you going to Xandra's Library; you can find the link here: The Library Once you are there you have to navigate your way around the room and pick up the items that have a green glow to them. There will be other items but you do not have to pick them up. You move using your mouse and clicking in one block movements; you move then Xandra moves. The object is to collect all the green artifacts and make your way to the door. The first time I collected all of them I didn't complete it by going to the door. Xandra will try to block you with piles of rubble or zapping you with a green lightening bolt. You can clear the rubble but it will make you, in essence, lose a turn or move. I completed all three steps and checked the Fearless Deeds page to make sure that I actually got credit for completing them. To check your progress, visit your own Fearless Deeds page

After I did the puzzle twice I was able to move diagonally; that really helped move my character around the board faster and to avoid getting hit with bolts. Moving around is not hard but it is time consuming. I have only played this four times so I have no idea if you can play over and over to collect more non-artifact items. While playing the first four (before completing all the steps for Fearless Deeds) if you picked up a non-artifact item you had to make it to the door to win the item - it was not deposited in to your Inventory. This part of the plot is not that hard but it does take time to get all three steps needed to complete Fearless Deeds.

The plot steps are:

"Ooh, Shiny! Pick up the artifact that started this whole mess."
(Complete the board one time with all green items, you can pick up other bonus items as well)

"The Task at Hand: Avoid being distracted by irrelevant fripperies"
(Complete the board game without picking up non-green items)

"Proximity Warning: Narrowly escape Xandra's scholarly wrath."
(Get this when you make it to the door with Xandra within two spaces of you)
