The Fatherhood Test

The Fatherhood Test

God appointed Fathers a special place in life.

They are to be a family leader and guide.

As a Father takes his first look through the nursery window his face is sure to beam with pride.

He sees a tiny face and hands. The rest of the body is bundled in a blanket of pink or blue.

He maybe has an anxious feeling, thinking, Lord I 'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

He needs to be assured this person will not break, so tiny he can hold them is his two big hands.

It's amazing how fast this little one grows as Dad watches, each day making plans.

He would maybe like this child to follow in his footsteps.

Perhaps that is not meant to be.

But Dad, don't forget, while teaching the basics of bike riding and fishing the main thing to teach is responsibility.

You teach that by being an example before them.

Do your best and let God do the rest.

When you see that grown-up Son or Daughter as they embark on a promising future you'll know you have passed the Fatherhood test.

The richest reward any Father can receive, the greatest prize to be had, is to hear that Son or Daughter proudly say, "That's my Dad".
