My mother just shared a story with me about a man that left one of the casinos here in Detroit; He had won really big, and decided to call it a night. But what he didn't realize is that he was being followed. And by the time, he got home, got out of his car and proceeded to enter his home, he was robbed.
Now, how scary is that? With hearing about this, the first thing I felt was that now I understand how people feel when they are being stalked by an unknown party, or when entertainers are bothered with the Paparazzi. I started to get chills while my mother was telling me the story! I mean, how much audacity is had when someone actually stakes you out to take something that not only doesn't belong to them, but to get something so easily.
I know that winning at a casino, or hitting the lottery are not things you actually 'work hard' for, but the winnings are still yours, and no one wants someone to just come and TAKE those awards/winnings from them. What kind of world have we become, when someone actually sits back and wait for you to leave a place, follow you home, and then violate you? My gosh, what is the world turning to? What happened to the security that you should feel when you've been somewhere, and wish to return home safely? Can we even walk our dogs to the park anymore without being on pins and needles for fear of someone coming to rob you and your dog?
I know the economy is in a bad state right now for all of us, and when I say for all of us, I mean ALL of us: hard workers, non-workers, and thieves and hobos as well! But shouldn't that ring some sort of bell that none of us have anything for others to be taking? If we all are in a bad state, then why should a person feel that they have the right to take something from you, just because they feel that you may have a bit more than they do?
I also wanna add that it's even more scarier to know that when you leave the casino, there is no security from when you leave there and return home. It's such a scary issue to know that when you go into places like casinos, and win, that you have to be extremely careful and watchful as to who is around you. You may never know who it is watching and preying on you. So, please be careful when you are in places like that, and in other places as well.
