The Feared Obesity Epidemic Has Exploded!

No, the next feared epidemic that faces our world today isn't Bird Flu or Anthrax, its Obesity!

Now we all have noticed the subject of the child obesity "epidemic" that is all over the media at the moment, especially in America. But as I shop and visit friends and eat out I am seeing more obese adults than children, everywhere you go you notice people struggling for breath just to be able to walk around the city. You see parents unable to play with there children because it hurts them to walk fast let alone run around a park. This isn't right.

What ever happened to this proud nation?

So the obesity battle does not end at just child obesity as we Americans see probably on an everyday basis as I have recently. American people are quite simply eating too much! To make matters worse some people with obesity problems don't even engage in any physical activity!

The million-dollar question is what can we do to combat obesity?

The first thing that we have to find out is what exactly have the Americans done to get to this point? What has changed in recent years to cause such an obsession with food? There was a time where there was a shortage of food but it doesn't take a genius to recognize that this just isn't the case here!

So this obviously means that the law for supply and demand has escalated out of control. As time has gone on, the demand for food has risen due to the shortages in history. The food companies attempted and successfully supplied the food that was in demand. As it seems the more the companies supplied the more demand rose. Basically the more they supplied, the more we ate!

Also, within the supply and demand development over the recent years, the physical activity that Americans engage themselves in has dramatically lowered. So how has this affected the battle with obesity? We now consume a huge supply of foods that contain calories and fats. An immense amount! And day by day we are taking things slower and slower.

We are not questioning the foods that are put before us, we have no contemplation of calorie or fat intake we just eat and eat. We seem to have forgotten to educate ourselves on more nutritional foods and obviously this ignorance has landed us with this obesity battle.

I think the vast majority of people would agree that the battle with obesity in America is out of control and it stands to reason that it will only get worse.

We have to take control and educate ourselves if we are going to fight back against obesity and overcome this epidemic; there is no other way of attacking this obesity problem. Education is the answer.

Once we adults have educated ourselves we can then educate our children and so on, this will control the battle with obesity that faces us today. If we don't get control of the obesity problem some of our offspring could be just statistics, and we could also!

It is difficult to combat something that we know nothing about. The obesity battle has many researchers and people alike probing in hope of finding a solution to this problem. I believe that if more of us become educated, the more of us can build a solution to help everyone.
