The Festival of Neggs Wrap Up: Five Million Plastic Neggs?

Miss Fortune

I wasn't expecting the last Neggto show up on my first click but I found it at the Lunar Temple. When I went back to the Festival of Neggs page I saw that not only did I snag a new avatar but I also got the "Hollowed Negg Tree Background" for collecting all sixteen patterned plastic Neggs. The community challenge doesn't look as promising; we needed to find five million and right now the number isn't even close. 3,842461 is the current count so unless there happens to be a massive windfall of dedicated users clicking away it looks like this is a fail.

I haven't picked my prizes from the four sections of the event yet. I wanted to wait and see what the prices were on them but so far they all seem to be about even. When in doubt, books and food (and other one time use items) are usually the safest bet. There weren't a lot of things happening at the Festival of Neggs outside of the Negg Hunt. A lot of people started playing Key Quest to get in on the seasonal prizes that were offered but it is going to take a while for the prices on them to stabilize and actually make a profit from them.

So why all the clicking? The more you click, the more Neopets makes from banner ad revenue. Of course if you are a Neopets Premium member you won't see ads so that solution is always available. Events like this up the page counts for them, something that you can track from the main page of the site. Some people say that it helps to increase the number of Random Events that you can get but I think that there is more to it than that. I can go weeks without getting a Codestone as a Random Event then get one every single day for a week without doing anything differently or spending less or more time at the site. Everyone has a theory on things but let us never forget NP sucking events like the Save The Wheels campaign.
