The Fiat Panda is Celebrating Its 30th Anniversary

The Fiat Panda turns 30, with 6 million units registered is confirmed as the largest city-car with that commercially record.

In 2004, two Pandas 4x4 were involved in a daring test drive that began in Kathmandu (Nepal) and ended in the advanced base camp of Everest, was the first time that a small off-road "reached the camp at an altitude 5, 200 meters.

The Panda has adapted over time in terms of functionality and value for money. If for 30 years an average employee had to use the 9-month salary to be able to allow a Panda, now only need 6 monthly installments to make the same purchase.

The Panda is not just a city-car, but a real platform on which Fiat has created a whole family of cars with technology and attention to detail senior.

The Panda range, recently renovated, maintaining the peculiarities winning super-compact Fiat: innovative design, modern technology available to all, and smart solutions that simplify and enhance life on board.

Currently, the range includes traditional engines (petrol and diesel from 54 to 100 hp) or alternative (natural gas and LPG), combined with sequential manual or automated, and versions with either front-or integral, the latter further enriched with electronic differential lock (Electronic Locking Differential) combined with ESP (Electronic Stability Program).

Not forgetting the many special series were created based on the new vehicle: the Panda Monster 4x4 fruit of collaboration between Fiat and Ducati (2006); the Panda who participated in the competition in 2007, the Panda Capri, which conducted in 2006 an exclusive service replacement on the famous island, the Panda Alessi, true object of design or, recently, the Panda Mommy is dedicated to mums with a superb standard equipment to safely transport the children.

The Fiat Panda celebrated its 30th anniversary in the last Geneva Motor Show 2010, the same scene that saw his debut in 1980 giving birth to a long history of successes and records.

The Panda is now part of the Fiat brand equity. Represented in the history of the automobile and European drivers and unmistakable a new way to understand the daily relationship with the car: more immediate, more outspoken, more easily.
